DESIGN STATEMENT The EEC will be the hub of all MNS activities.

This is a headquarters for them. It will assists this noble act of MNS in saving the environment.

Despite the programs of the EEC, The building itself must educate people about sustainable.

Passive design strategies were used to reduce the usage of electrical power, and impact of environment. The elongated plan with minimal exposure to sunlight was one of the strategies.

For cross ventilation to successfully occurs, a narrow plan should be used. To reduce the heating effect, large overhang must be used. Solar panels and rain water harvesting also used. The uses of both technology will keep the building independent from domestic electrical and water supply.

Light weight materials was used as walls and partition to reduce the loading. Elevated form will reduced the destruction of the site which leads to the used of pad footing and shallow foundation.

CONCEPT TREEHOUSE, a simple concept which is understandable even to children. The element of tree house was extracted and translated into an EEC. A tree house is a place to play and also learning for children which will attract kids into the EEC. With the sustainable design features, it will teaches kid sustainable at young age.

DESIGN STATEMENT “Personalization : the essence of customization and personalization is to provide only and exactly what each customer wants at the right time (pine and gilmore, 1999).Von hippel (1998) stresses the importance of the customer’s involvement in designing products for mass customization, since the customer has the very best understanding of his/ her own needs, and can relay the information to the manufacturer.”

(Xuehong Du, Jianxin Jiao and Mitchell M.Tseng, Identifying customer need patterns for customization and personalization, 2003) By including the users in the design and construction process of the units, it will gives the freedom for them to add their own touch and ideas to make the house liv-

able and fulfill their needs and lifestyle. To fulfill this, options must be varied for certain things such as the orientation of the block, the view, facades, and interior. Users only can choose the smaller and detail features. It must be control and limited to avoid out of context renovation.

The idea is to give freedom to the user to personalize their homes and also to provide them few choices of housing units that they can choose. Either one storey or two, or facing the sea or the courtyard, its all up to the user to choose which unit is suitable for them to dwelled in.

DESIGN STATEMENT The future is here. Where technology is no longer a tool. It is a part of human life. Its provide us with a lot of advantages. Even to the young children. Through devices such as tablets and smart phones, childrens play (learn) and develop their cognitive skills.

and human have to be achieved in order to create a more sustainable lifestyle.

Public usually have negative perception towards technology on children since it will take away their social skills.

The connection between Children + Technology + Environment must be created to create a more holistic generation.

A special education must be created to educate the future generations about the usage of technology and how to balance the usage with other things such as physical exercise and soft skills. The harmony between technology

Technology + Education. It provides for the teachers and students. It acts as a platform between the two sides blurring the gap and increase the efficiency of learning and monitoring.

The exposure towards environment in children will also decrease due to the rise of technology. Outdoor will be unnecessary to the new generations.

Technology work as components which are connected and control by one main component and then it will work as one big component. It is translated into the school spaces and blocks. There are 4 components. Admin, education, facilities and others.

The admin will be main control hub which will control and monitor the other components. It is the components which determine the performance of other components.

Shadow formed in front of the building shading the drop off area and the road for vehicle. Providing shade to the students and teachers arriving at the school. Shadow also formed at the Public Plaza which can be used as shaded morning assembly area.

DAYLIGHTING With the help of Autodesk Ecotect, the design able to analyse the daylighting. Learning spaces must have optimum lighting in order to provide a condusive space.

CLASSROOM The classroom is well lit and protected by the louvers on the facade.

DESIGN STATEMENT The Green Hub is a design for the Anugerah Hijau 2014 (Green Award) organized by a nature lover NGO Ecoknights. The eco campus was design to accomodate the organization activities and administration office. I chose to design a community campus. Which is also an environmental education centre.

The site location was chose by the designer himself. It located at Kota Damansara. Strategically located between residential area. The objective is to be near the community which will ease the organization to approach the community.

The campus consists administration office for the organization, a public core with market and retails, cottages that can be used to accomodate participant or become a rental spaces to avoid the space from being unused, a farming tower that will be the icon for the campus, a recycle centre and also a recreation lake consists of jogging track.

With many cycling activities going on near the site, three ramps were provided to increase permeability of the campus. It will be the one stop center for the cyclist. Car circulation was reduced to minimum to reduce pollution of air and noise.

The farming tower will plant vegetables and also generate electricity from solar panels and wind turbine for the campus. Gracity-pull water irrigation system will be used with water that is harvested from the rain. The tower will be an icon of sustainability.

Generate electricity to reduce the cost of electricity usage in the campus.

The roof form catches the wind and directed into the turbines. So it will increase the speed as the outlet is smaller than the outlet.

RENTAL ROOM To avoid the dormitory from empty when there’s no event, the dorm will turned into rental space - use as tuition place, class, etc

The farming tower design increase the planting area 4 times more than planting in the area of the footprint of the tower. Usual vegetables such as spinach, long beans, tomatoes etc.

The water harvested from the roof and put into water tanks. The water irrigated using gravitational force and spiraled down.
