„Žemaitijos pienas“ SC, one of the biggest and most modern milk processing companies in Lithuania, is located in Telšiai, the city on seven hills. For the first time, the company was mentioned in the documents back in 1924. Telšiai dairy at that time was already famous for its production. It supplied dairy products not only to local population but also customers abroad. Nowadays, the experience accumulated and transferred during almost 100 years of operation, the recipes created enables the company to offer a range of over 200 excellent dairy products. Hard cheese DŽIUGAS has contributed most of all to making Lithuania’s name known in the world, having earned a lot of titles and over 40 international awards.
Quality is the priority of the company, therefore, we constantly improve and offer our customers highly competitive products. The quality of products of the company is guaranteed by the standards applicable to raw milk, advanced technological processes that are aimed to ensure high food value and its impeccable safety. The result of our efforts is popular products in the comfortable and attractive packaging. An important role goes to the Independent Research Laboratory. The specialists of this laboratory perform constant control of raw milk, additional materials, and final products.
The company’s integrated food safety and quality management system is based on the principles of the Food Code (Codex Alimentarius). All procedures are drafted and implemented in accordance with the requirements of international GFSI recognized food safety standards: IFS, BRC, FSSC. Additionaly products are produced in accordance to Halal and Kosher requirements. They regulate the determination of potential sources of biological, chemical or physical pollution, control of the risk factors and ensure the high quality of final products.
Food safety and quality management system of the company has been regularly audited by external certification body companies and unannounced audits of chain markets. The professional team of the company concentrates on the priorities and strives to achieve the maximum result, therefore only high quality, safe, healthy and delicious dairy products reach the customers every day.
