The Flintshire Historical Society was created in 1911. Although it was dormant from 1921 it was revised in 1951 and is still going strong. It still covers the area of the pre1974 county of Flintshire.

Since the Covid pandemic we have changed our venues for the monthly lecture meetings between October to April. We now alternate between Ebenezer Baptist Church, Mold CH7 1PA, and St Peter’s church, Holywell CH8 7TL. We meet on the 4th Saturday of the month at 2.30pm.

Our meetings for this spring are:

• 24th February at Holywell: ‘North Wales Castles’ by Erin Lloyd Jones.

• 23rd March at Mold: ‘Wrecks of the Dee Estuary’ by Christopher Michael, MA, D Phil, F Inst P.

• 27th April at Holywell: ‘The Mortimers, Lords of the Welsh Marches and (nearly) kings of England!’ by Philip Hume, Mortimer History Society.

Non-members are welcome and booking is not necessary. For further information contact: secretaryfhs21@gmail.com or www.flintshirehistoricalsociety.org.uk Or find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/FlintshireHistory
