Royal Classic Female Sale

We look forward to welcoming each of you back to the climate controlled Hansen Learning Center for the 7th Annual Royal Classic Female Sale. As time continues to move quickly during the lead up to the Holiday season I feel it’s a good time to look back at the genetic progress this group has made over the course of the past 7 seasons. This year’s offering is star studded from the first lot to the final page of the catalog and will offer each of you a tremendous opportunity to advance your program for years to come.

The group of bred heifers we will offer January 4th are almost entirely 100% safe to their AI dates and is one of the calmest sets of bred heifers of this caliber you will find in the entire country. Notabley many of the bred heifers in this sale are halter broke and broke to lead as well. On top of the dispositions this group is packed with added power, look, and tremendously rich in cow power backing their pedigrees.

It’s no secret the customer base of this sale has grown over the years and most of that is due to a high rate of return buyers. Looking through this offering and studying the footnotes you’ll quickly see that many of the top lots in this offering got their foundational genetic base from a past purchase out of this very sale. As a group we are so proud of the fact that many buyers have paid for their purchases in just one calf and are awaiting the ET calves to come in the coming seasons.

The dam to these girls, Glass Slipper, comes from the Trennepohl program, IN and had a very successful show season for Jaxon; including 3rd overall division winner at the 2020 Junior National Classic, Brookings, SD, 2020 MYLE Champion Simmental and the 2020 MN Champion Purebred Simmental Show heifer of the year. Jaxon showed Slipper’s natural calf by Double Up this past year took and took home numerous wins with her, including reserve champion purebred Simmental at the 2023 North Star Classic and 6th overall Purebred at the 2024 North Central AJSA Regional Classic, Hutchinson, KS. It’s a daily debate in our barn as to which one of these two sisters is the better one. Personally, I don’t think it’s a debate anyone is ever going to win. They are both really cool, just in a little different way. L28F is the longer bodied, super sweet fronted, big hipped version, while L18F is the super soft, big bellied, cowy one.

This might be one of the hardest footnotes I’ve ever written, and not because I can’t think of enough good things to say about this heifer, but because everything I want to say about her is making me question why we are even letting her go. Lady Ava was a really unique breeding piece for us being a full sib to Hartman’s High Caliber bull and an outcross pedigree to a lot of the genetics we’ve been using. She was an absolutely beautiful cow with an amazing set of feet and legs and the most gorgeous, picture-perfect udder you have ever seen. She’s consistently passed those favorable traits on to her progeny and I’ve heard nothing but really good things about her daughters that are in production now. Unfortunately, we don’t’ have Ava with us anymore and that’s why letting this high quality, perfect blaze-faced daughter of hers go is going to be really hard!

The dam to this girl, Everything Nice, was the $35,000, high selling heifer purchased from Shipwreck Cattle Company in the 2018 Fort Worth National Simmental Sale. A maternal sib by Equity was a top selling bred at $10,000 in last year’s Royal Classic Sale selling to Claeys and St. Germain, MN. Other sibs have brought $10,000, $8750, $7000, $5750 and $4250. We’ve got a full sister to this girl working in our own herd and she’s got the same gorgeous udder and great feet and legs that her dam had. We love the disposition and maternal power of our Wood daughters and the added length and look he transmits.

With the heavy utilization of Reverse Sort Technology bulls such as this come around all to infrequently. To date 4/B Miss Secret Weapon 41D has registered over 100 daughters and only 3 bull calves.
