Here’s a pair of females with a winning tradition behind them. 41M is a full sibling to the dominant Bayer heifer from the 2020 COVID show season and a maternal sibling to Schick’s many time Champion Fall Open Heifer who was selected 7th Overall at this year’s AJSA National Classic. 463M is a full sibling to Sullivan’s OKC Supreme Champion Female, Griswold’s earned Reserve Overall at NWSS this year, & Roberts Cattle was recently selected Champion Simmental at the NILE with a full sibling as well. Each of these females comes with the right parts and pieces to excel at a high level in their own right. The 463M female is big outlined, monster footed, and great on the profile. While the 41M female has that show ring elegance about her and is so sound and correct when set in motion. Be sure you take some extra time to analyze this pair of purebred females.

Here is an intriguing female, probably more of the show heifer type but also going to be an exceptional production cow at the end of her show career. I think she would be very diverse in the way you could use her in a breeding program anything from show steers to herd bulls and everything in between just depends on how you want to use her. She is elegant in her design, very smooth shoulder wide topped and deep sided as one can make them.

These two females are out of one of our newest donors, PSCS Lucy’s Girl 203J. She was our pick out of the Parks dispersal in 2021. It is not by accident that these two come at you with the complete package that they do. 203J’s Dam was a former Supreme Overall Female at the American Royal. There is a multitude of avenues you can go with these two in the future with their breeding possibilities. Since birth it has always been discussed around our place as to which one is the better one. We have differing opinions on that, but I do not think you could go wrong either way.

This female was produced by another new donor to our operation. Ruby SWC Yetti H0055 was the high selling lot in the 2021 Spring Edition of the Livin the Dream Sale for the Ruby Family. H0055, Star as Kennedy calls her was her first show heifer, you could not ask for a more docile one to start out with. That docile gene has certainly carried over to this 915L heifer. Being out of SO Remedy she has that extra power and look about her. We really like using Private Stock on these heifers, they come easy and are up and going quickly at our place.

Have you ever been in the ring with your heifer or even standing around the rail and listening to the judge as they are giving reasons on the class, and they say here is the cow prospect of the class, and if she is not in first place you wonder what are they looking for then. Well, here is that heifer that is the cow prospect of the class. She might not be as pretty, as the one that wins the class but you cannot make one much nicer in her front one third. Smooth shouldered, nice necked, and big belly. Everything about her screams cow prospect. The way she is bred even enhances the possibilities. Sired by the now deceased SAM and out our Sandeen Donna 8109 donor cow. Kind of hard to line the stars up any better. A maternal sib sister was recently one of the high selling Bred heifer lots at The Next Generation Female Sale for $7500.

These two females come to you out of our lead donor 608D, she is tried and true. We have mated her many ways and never have had a bad mating. It appears the SO Remedy route has proven to be very good mating as well. The 100L female is big and stout, if you like your cattle with that extra size and capacity you will like her. The 436L female is a tick smaller in her frame size but has every bit as much look and power. Both these females are broke to tie.

Super stout bred heifer here. We purchased this heifer’s dam out of the Tom Fullenkamp dispersal a couple years ago as an open, she is a PAL/CLAC Meant To Be X Sandeen Donna bred female that we never got registered. So, we are selling this bred as a half blood. Certainly, does not take away from the powerful way this heifer in constructed. Being bred to Private Stock, her offspring could be the real deal. This heifer is broke to tie and was lead some last fall as we were planning to show her. We gave up on that idea as she does have a bit more attitude than the other heifers. If you can get around the attitude, we think she is the real deal.

Here is a beautiful black baldy heifer that hails from the center of our breeding here in Winfield. We love the Bank on It cattle and this heifer is why! We are big believers in cow families around here if you can’t tell, combining Daisy Mae, Knockout 74T, L901, Shes So Sweet. 8543, Y770. The maternal power is deep in this one! If there has been a more tried and true mating these last couple of years I would love to see it! She is a full sib in blood to many high sellers and champions for Sullivans and RJs. Going back to the famous Rita cow family that resides in Mitchell, and going back to the 8543U cow family that resides in Emery. I think this brockle faced beauty can do a lot go good for her new owners wether its raising seed stock or feeder cattle. Vet called 4 months on 9/20.

I know this will be hard to believe but this heifer is a ¾ blood Simmental! Yes I know she is grey/silver but look at her nose, its BLACK! This broody female is huge middled, whip fronted, big backed, and moves like a tom cat! I truly believe in this female, she can go so many different ways, whether that’s club calf production, seed stock production, or just feeder calf production! This female will just flat out work! Here we are again with a few of our Charolais influenced females! I think this silver baldy can raise some fancy calves! Breed this one to a fuzzy club calf bull and watch the steers this one will raise! I was always hesitant to have these white cows around but when you breed them Simmental they flat out work! We purchased this known daughter of the great Sazerac cow a couple years ago from the Ferguson Family. If you have read thru the footnotes of our bred heifers, you might pick up on the fact that six out of seven of them are embryo born heifers. That is the direction we have been trying to take our herd, we currently have several donor cows we are flushing. With the donors we have been leaning on, we feel as though this cow has not been paid the attention she deserves in our herd, a lot of untapped potential here, and she deserves more attention than we have gave her. She has produced a couple bulls that we sold to commercial cattlemen, as well as a heifer this year that we are retaining to sell as a bred next year. She is in the prime of her life as a six-year-old and has a lot potential left to be harvested.

I’m not going to sugar coat it, this is one tough female to let go. These Playbooks’ are just flat out awesome cows and this one goes back to the R3 family that we continue to brag on. This 4 year old is in her prime and just starting to hit her stride in production. She is destined to leave her mark in her new owner’s operation.

Moderate and thick made Angus female here that will check all your boxes. We still have a few of these Angus females around that we think will click when we breed them for percentage offspring and this is one that does just that. We are pretty excited with this mating to TJ Gold!

Hawkeye Bred Cows

A solid group of Commercial females who have all been on a strict vet protocal and raised some really nice calves for us this season. The second calf cow in this group sells safe AI to the exciting new G- and Van Hove Sire Dwyer Wall Street, while the balance of the group is bred to our LLSF Mainstay herd sire. Mainstay is a Lover Boy son out of the dam of LLSF Pays to Believe. We have sold bred heifer daughters of his for 4 years now and have averaged right at $4,000 per head on those females over the years. All of those bred heifers were out of Commercial cows just like the ones being offered. All of these females have been recently wormed, poured, and given Scour Guard 9, Multi-Min, & a 7-way.

Welcome all to the 46th Annual Hawkeye Simmental Sale, and what an exciting time it is to be part of the beef business! Cattle prices in all segments are at unprecedented levels, and with the smallest cow herd since the 1960’s, there has never been a better time to bring in new genetics that can help further your operation down its path to success. Whether you’re looking for the next one to lead in the ring, or the next female to add to the herd, we truly feel this offering has something for everyone!

As always, the opens are just flat good. Soft made with flash and flare for days, these girls will sure give you a look to impress the most stringent of cattlemen, and are backed by some of the most productive cow families in the breed. Just last season 3 of the 20 Open Heifers offered went on to earn Champion female honors for their new owners!

As for the bred offering, WOW is all we can say! Collectively, we have worked diligently to bring a group of bred females with generations of cow power and performance behind them, and we truly believe in this set! As you sort through these females, you will find them to be as broody and big middled as you can make them. Couple that with being bred to some of the most honest and real-world bulls on the market today, these ladies can sure do a lot of good things for years to come! Thank you again for your consideration in this year’s offering! If you have any questions about this set cattle, please reach out to any of us or any of the sale staff. We always love to talk cattle!

Thank you for your consideration, The Hawkeye Simmental Breeders Group
