We would like to take this opportunity to welcome each of you to the Bar QH Simmentals Sale Facility for the Pride of the Prairie Annual Production Sale. For this year’s offering we have a tremendous line-up of Registered Simmental & Angus females who are in the prime of their lives and ready to go to work for your operation. The open heifers in this sale are all halter broke and are backed by the very best cow families from their respective operations.

As you appraise this sale book you are sure to note the tremendous offering of bred heifers and young bred cows. The vast majority of this group are bred up to leading proven calving ease sires and all of the females have excellent attitudes. These females have been hand selected for this sale based on attitude, early breeding dates, structural integrity, and valuable cow families.

A new twist to this year’s sale is the offering of a great set of young cows from Bar QH Simmentals these females are all bred up to calve prior to the end of February to bulls who include Step Up, Revival, Renowned, and their own herd bull who has placed some oustanding daughters into the bred heifer division of this sale. This set of cows will make excellent property in the coming years and have youth and lineage to back up their potency.

Every year I have a calf I pick as my favorite, and eight months later as I write this footnote, I am still just as proud to say that she is special. D362 never has a bad day, never stands wrong, always looks great, always gets picked out by others immediately. It all starts at the ground and she is as sound as they come; come up from there and she is long fronted, excellent rib shape, and soft, soft, soft. Of course that perfect blaze face doesn’t hurt either. When I study females that are at the top of our breed, I am reassured D362 has all those same attributes. When I ask peers to pick a hole in her, you can hear a pin drop. As with 307, if you choose to take her home that is a okay, but the option is open for her to stay here in the Bar QH show barn and we will help campaign her still. I am very proud to put this female in front of you for appraisal.

D307 is unique from the ground up. She’s sow bellied, razor fronted, and has style to burn. Her grandma is a front pasture cow that sticks AI every year. Her dam is a first calf heifer sired by the now deceased Pilgrim whose genetics are sought after to this day. If you’re looking for an investment or to help get a junior started we are willing to keep this heifer here and stay involved if you so choose. I think she has a very bright future ahead, as do all the visitors that stop by. My wife and kids will be sad to see her go as she is the barn sweetheart but my commitment to selling quality cattle puts her on the auction block.
