PGA REACH TRI-STATE

DROP THE PUCK ON CANCER

The 10th Annual Drop the Puck On Cancer Dek Hockey Tournament occurred at Brentwood High School on Saturday, March 25th.

As the 'Official Goals Sponsor' Tri-State PGA Executive Director/CEO, David Wright was on hand to participate and present a $2,500 check on behalf of our PGA REACH TRI-STATE foundation. (For every goal scored, PGA REACH Tri-State will donate $20 to $2,500.)

-----

OFFICIAL Goals Sponsor

DROP THE PUCK began in 2011, created by a group of friends, the Duttine-Cavataio Fund, a 501(3)c non-profit, after the untimely death of two young Brentwood Alumni. The first DTP hockey tournament held in Brentwood Park became a smashing success. Proceeds went directly to the families devastated by the death of their loved ones.

'The Whole Reason for Augusta National': How Marion Hollins

Became a Golf Course Design Pioneer (Via PGA.com on April 4, 2023)

She was an influencer before the turn-of-phrase meant anything. She was a heavy inspirational hand in most of golf’s most prominent layouts. She did it all and played it all. She died young – too young – but left a lasting legacy.

Marion Hollins was a bit of everything. And now, 70 years after her passing, she continues to be celebrated.

“Because of her family’s wealth, they had access to all these hobbies and then having all these brothers … she was good at everything,” says Emily Chorba, the historian at California’s Pasatiempo Golf Club – an iconic layout that came to life thanks to Hollins.

“Samuel Morse wrote she had the best personality ever. That’s the ‘je ne sais quoi’ and she had it.”
