In honor of our dear friend, Edward J. Habjan (1961-2024), a past Tri-State PGA President, PGA America District Director, and a member for over 25 years, we celebrated his legacy at Wildwood Golf Club with the inaugural Ed Habjan Memorial Parent/Child Championship, presented by Dick's Sporting Goods.
Ed's wife, Tracy; his son, Alex; and his daughter, Nicole, were in attendance, along with many family members and friends. The event showcased Ed's PGA Member staff bag and featured branded trophies for the winners in seven divisions.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all the players and family pairings, as well as the golf professionals who participated in the Parent/Child Championship, making it a memorable day of bonding and camaraderie. Special thanks to TSPGA President Daniel Braun for his presence and leadership during the event, and to Ed's close friend, PGA Professional Mike Papson (Valley Brook CC/TSPGA Vice-President), who had the honor of playing alongside Ed's daughter, Nicole, for 18 wonderful and emotional holes of golf.
Our appreciation also extends to Wildwood Golf Club and its host PGA professional, David Yokitis, as well as our presenting partner, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Executive Chairman, Edward W. Stack.
