WEST VIRGINIA TRI-STATE PGA CLASSIC

MONDAY-TUESDAY APRIL 7-8, 2025

TRI-STATE

Congratulations to our Overall Champion, Ryan Bilby (a) from Marshall University, for winning back-to-back titles! We also congratulate our Low Professional Champion, David Scragg (Edgewood Country Club, WV).

The road opener at Guyan Golf & Country Club in Huntington, WV, was a fantastic event, and the hospitality was exceptional. We want to thank the West Virginia Golf Association and their excellent team, including Chris Slack, Lucas Ware, Sarah Cole, and the staff.

Thanks to the Guyan Golf & Country Club team: Rick Ellison, PGA, Stuart Wiley, PGA, Bobby Cline, Isaac Meyers, and Steve Bellamy. Special thanks to Steve Superick, PGA (Cobra|Puma Golf), for providing a range of stylish Opening Day tournament hats.

Please join us in celebrating all of the finalists and the three junior golfers who qualified through the Tri-State PGA local and regional qualifiers last year. Niko Ameredes, Riviera Lindholm, and Caris Hartman competed in The Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals on Sunday, April 6th, at Augusta National Golf Club.

TSPGA Executive Director/CEO David Wright represented the section along with reps from the other 40 sections and the PGA of America to assist with the DCP weekend of festivities for the participants and their families.

What an exciting time and opportunity for Niko, Riviera, Caris, and their families; these memories will last a lifetime.

Congratulations to the champions! What a wonderful day for all the competitors and their families.

Junior Golf Night occurred on April 2nd, and this year's event featured an exciting twist. Scally's Golf Center hosted the gathering, where junior golfers and their families from across the region enjoyed an evening of instruction and demonstrations from our exclusive manufacturers; Titleist, TaylorMade, Mizuno, Tour Edge, and Srixon/Cleveland Golf.

Attendees were thrilled to see Roc the Panther (PITT) and The Duke (Duquesne), and everyone indulged in free pints of Isaly's iconic ice cream. Additionally, participants had the chance to compete in a closest-to-the-pin contest for prizes.

We would like to extend our gratitude to our presenting partner, Isaly's Chipped Chopped Ham, the equipment manufacturers, Phil Scally and his staff, the mascots, and the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association for contributing two raffle tickets for practice rounds at the upcoming U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club.

Congratulations to our friends and presenting partners of the Tri-State PGA ISALY'S Junior Golf Tour. It is wonderful to see this iconic brand showcased in the city of Pittsburgh. We are excited to visit the new space!

The 12th Annual Drop The Puck On Cancer Dek Hockey Tournament occurred at Brentwood High School on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. As the official Goals Sponsor, Andrew Wood, the Director of Operations for Tri-State PGA, presented a check for $2,500 on behalf of the PGA of America REACH Foundation Tri-State.

As we honor their sacrifice, we must also remember the profound challenges they faced, both during and after their service.

The Tri-State PGA thanks the Pittsburgh Veterans Breakfast Club USA, Todd DePastino, Shaun Hall, and their team for welcoming PGA HOPE Tri-State to the Senator John Heinz History Center on March 29th, 2025. We appreciate the opportunity to have PGA HOPE ambassador Ron Gionta (USAF) and volunteer Dave Kraft (USAF) attend the event and share information on the PGA of America Veterans Golf Program. The event was top-notch and was a wonderful celebration and tribute to our United States Vietnam Veterans.
