What is your go-to type of Movie?

I like movies based on real people and scenarios. Some of my favorites are - Gladiator, Legend of Bagger Vance, Greatest Game Ever Played, Dances with Wolves, Major League, and of course, Caddy Shack (The Original).

What is your go-to Club in your bag?

Lob Wedge - I love experimenting with all kinds of shots around the green, in the bunkers, and getting creative. Seeing people's eyes pop out when I can pull some of them off during a round is the best feeling in the world.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Endicott, NY, on the first hole of the famous Enjoie Golf Course. Home of the BC Open and now the Dicks Champions Tour Event.

Tell us about your family.

- Are you married, and do you have any children?

I am married to my wife Lisa and am blessed with an 8month-old baby girl named Hazel. We also have a Westie named ACE.

Tell us something that people might be surprised to learn about you.

I love cooking, grilling, and making pizzas in my pizza oven, but my specialty is homemade Chinese food made from scratch in a wok. We love entertaining and being able to fill everyone with good food, drinks, and laughs.

What is the best part of your game?

Putting is the best part of my game. I have always liked the simplicity of putting, but the complexity of being good at it. Matching the speed and line and making the putt in your mind before you hit it is so satisfying when you see it go down!

What is your best round of Golf?

I have shot 61 twice and hold the Course Record at the Old IBM Country Club in Johnson City, NY. I was the pro there from 1994-1999, and we hosted the 4 spot qualifier there for the BC Open. I made 11 birdies and two bogeys in one of the rounds and 10 birdies and one bogey in the other. The bogey was a three-putt on 17 from about 12 feet, where if I made it, I had a chance to shoot 59. I went for it but fell short.

Can you name two of your favorite golf courses that you've played, and what makes them unique to you?

My favorite course of all time is Bethpage Black - Just a great big golf course. Love that it is walking only and that it tests not only your game, but your stamina as well. Have played many NY State Opens there.

Second Favorite is Pine Valley. Really enjoy the experience of just great golf with caddies, no distractions, and it is very challenging.

What initially drew you to the game of Golf, and how did you get started?

My father introduced me to golf at around age 4. He was an avid golfer, and when we were about 8, he bought a house on a golf course where my mom and dad still live today. I also have a twin brother who is an excellent player. He was a runner-up in the NY State Am in 1999 and an All-American in College. Both my mom and dad played, so you could say we had the perfect 4-some growing up.

Who would you choose to play with if you could play one round of golf with any three people (alive or deceased)?

My Dad, Mom, and Brother with My Best Friend and Caddy John Ryan (JR) - John was my best childhood friend and left us at the age of 42. We had so many great times going to tournaments together. He never wanted a dime; he just loved the game and caddying for me that much. He is missed by many very much.

What made you decide to pursue a career in the PGA of America, and how long have you been a PGA member?

I have dedicated my life to golf since I was young, and that is all that I have ever done. I wanted a job that didn't seem like a job, and found out early that if you love what you do, it doesn't always feel like work. Teaching is my passion, and there is nothing better than seeing someone hit their first great shot.

I have been a PGA member since 1998 and was one of the first to complete the GPTP program when it came out.

Talk about being a PGA of America member, what it means, and having PGA after your name. The PGA has been around for over 100 years, and to be part of an association that produced so many leaders of the game is really cool.

What wisdom can you offer about golf careers and the importance of becoming a PGA member/achieving membership status?

The biggest piece of wisdom is that you have to love what you do, every day. Get really good at listening and never speak unless you know what you are about to say is correct. This holds true in life, but for golf, it is very important, especially when teaching people the game.

Can you provide any accolades or recognition?
