Tell us something people would be surprised to know about you.
I have a hole-in-one at #17 TPC Sawgrass. Where did you grow up?
Out in the sticks of Washington County, Burgettstown.
Tell us about your family.
-Are you married, and do you have any children?
My wife, Andrea, and I have been married for 15 years; we have two sons, Evan (12) and Erik (8).
What initially drew you to the game of Golf, and how did you get started?
My father. He always wanted me to play golf, but I told him I was going to the NBA. Finally, in my freshman year of high school, I wised up, decided to listen to him, took up the game, and got hooked immediately.
What is your best round of Golf?
72 in the last round of the Tri-State Open last year at Southpointe. It wasn’t the lowest competitive round I have ever shot, but at that course and under the tournament and course conditions (and paired with my boss,) I’m the proudest of that round.

What is the best part of your game?
Driving and short game
Can you name two of your favorite golf courses that you've played, and what makes them unique to you?
Excluding Allegheny CC, it would have to be Quail Hollow and Shoal Creek. I love a golf course where you hit every club in your bag, and those two courses require that of me. And obviously, the conditions and layouts are phenomenal!
Please give us some insight into your prior positions. I have done everything at a private club in golf operations, you name it, and I have done it.
What made you decide to pursue a career in the PGA of America, and how long have you been a PGA member?
I was always in the golf business, except for 3 years when I lived in Charlotte after college. I had a corporate job for Wells Fargo, which was a great experience, but it made me realize what I really wanted to do. I moved back to Pennsylvania, started working at Allegheny Country Club for John Aber and Tony Traci, learned from them, and never looked back. I have been a PGA member since 2009.

Talk about being a PGA of America member, what it means, and having PGA after your name.
To me, achieving PGA membership is like having another degree. The credibility that it gives me with my membership is extremely valuable. They respect and trust my expertise in everything that we do here at the Club.
Golf careers within the PGA are vast; what wisdom can you offer about golf careers and the importance of becoming a PGA member/achieving membership status?
Find what you love to do in the industry; golf has many avenues. I’m a big fan of the “getting thrown to the wolves” mentality for experience. You can learn a lot from books and seminars, but to me, there is no substitute for doing something, getting out of your comfort zone, figuring it out, and moving on.
If you could play one round of golf with any three people (alive or deceased), who would it be with?
My father (who passed away 5 years ago) and my two sons.
