What a month this has been. As we bring our second school year to a close, our community has celebrated a number of important moments, from end-of-year examinations and Moving Up Ceremonies to the start of Summer at Dwight and preparations for the year ahead.
There is much to anticipate as we prepare to celebrate our first graduating class and begin a new chapter in the story of Dwight School Hanoi. It is never easy to capture an entire school year in just a few minutes, but we have done our best.

END-OF-YEAR HIGHLIGHTS
UPPER SCHOOL STUDENTS COMPLETE END-OF-YEAR ASSESSMENTS
June marked an important period for our Upper School students as they completed their end-of-year examinations. For Grade 9 students, it provided valuable experience in formal examination environments, helping them build confidence and prepare for the increased demands of future assessments in Upper School.
For Grade 10 students, it was particularly significant as they undertook the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) eAssessments These externally assessed examinations form part of the requirements for students to earn the official IB MYP Certificate, an internationally recognized qualification awarded by the IB. The eAssessments represent the culmination of students' MYP studies and assess their understanding and application of knowledge across a range of subject areas.
Meanwhile, Grade 11 students completed their first round of mock IB examinations, giving them the opportunity to experience exam-style conditions, practice pacing and time management, and receive meaningful feedback as they continue preparing for their final IB Diploma Programme (DP) examinations in Grade 12.
Together, these assessments marked the conclusion of another academic year and an important step in students' progression through the IB continuum
HONORING GROWTH AND ACHIEVEMENT
As the school year drew to a close, Dwight School Hanoi marked a series of important moments through its Moving Up Ceremonies.
From Kindergarten students preparing for Lower School to Grade 5 students completing the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Grade 8 students moving into Upper School, and Grade 10 students beginning the Diploma Programme (DP), each occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on the year ’ s achievements and the next stage of learning.
Joined by families, teachers, and classmates, students celebrated these significant transitions and the progress they have made throughout the year.
SUMMER AT DWIGHT RETURNS
Now in its second year, Summer at Dwight has once again welcomed both Dwight and non-Dwight students to campus for a summer program combining academic learning with enrichment opportunities. The program allows students to develop new skills, explore their interests, and connect with peers from across Hanoi.
Students are participating in a wide range of activities, from science, art, and creative projects to sports, drama, and cooking
Highlights include sessions in our adjustable-depth swimming pool, where students build confidence, coordination, and water safety skills, as well as football coaching through the Manchester City Football School program, which focuses on teamwork, communication, and skill development. All activities take place on the Dwight campus and are led by Dwight teachers, providing students with an authentic Dwight learning experience throughout the summer
COMING UP
SUMMER DEVELOPMENTS
While Summer at Dwight is in full swing, our campus is also undergoing a number of developments as we prepare for the new academic year. Over the summer, enhancements are being made to campus décor and learning spaces, new classrooms are being opened to accommodate growing enrollment, and additional school buses are joining our transportation fleet. These developments reflect the continued growth of our school community and preparations for a larger student body next year.
DWIGHT GLOBAL CONCERT COMING TO HANOI
We are delighted to announce that Dwight School Hanoi will host the Dwight Schools Global Concert in February 2028, bringing together student musicians from across the Dwight global network for a celebration of music, creativity, and collaboration. The Global Concert is one of Dwight' s signature international events and has previously been hosted in world-class venues in cities such as Shanghai and New York, including performances at the renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center. Hosting the Global Concert in Hanoi is a significant honour for Dwight School Hanoi and a reflection of how far the school has come in just two years.
We look forward to welcoming students, families, and educators from around the world for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of the arts.
