This season is a time for fresh beginnings, reflection, and looking ahead with optimism May the year ahead bring good health, happiness, and new opportunities, and we look forward to sharing more moments from our community with you in the months to come. With this in mind, we are pleased to share some highlights from Dwight School Hanoi this past month.
Annual Dwight School Hanoi Tết Festival
On January 24, we hosted our annual Tết Festival, bringing the spirit of the Lunar New Year to life at Dwight School Hanoi. Cultural activities, delicious food, interactive workshops, and Tết vendors came together with our families, students, and staff to create a meaningful celebration. The festival offered an opportunity to experience how we honour Vietnamese culture within a globally minded school environment. It was a powerful reminder of the sense of belonging, and community that define life at Dwight School Hanoi.
VEX ROBOTICS NATIONAL FINALS
The VEX V5 Robotics Finals
In January, Dwight School Hanoi was proud to host two national-level robotics events. The VEX V5 Robotics Finals took place on the weekend of January 10–11, followed by the VEX IQ Robotics Vietnam National Championship Finals on January 31 and February 1. Across both events, we welcomed some of the country’ s strongest robotics teams to campus for two days of intensive competition.
During the VEX V5 Finals, our Dwight Lioneers represented the school with distinction, competing in a demanding environment that tested technical skill, teamwork, and strategic thinking. Finishing 12th out of 24 teams, the Lioneers narrowly missed qualification for the playoffs but were recognized with the Judges Award, honoring excellence in teamwork, professionalism, engineering design, communication, and sportsmanship.
VEX ROBOTICS NATIONAL FINALS
VEX IQ National Finals
At the VEX IQ National Finals, 88 teams from across Vietnam competed over two days for the opportunity to represent Team Vietnam at the VEX IQ World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri, this April. The atmosphere on campus was electric, with teams testing and making last-minute adjustments to their builds and code.
We were especially proud of our own VEX IQ team, the Dwight Lioneers, who made their debut at the National Finals after just a couple months together. Their teamwork, and dedication marked an important milestone and laid a strong foundation for the continued growth of robotics at Dwight School Hanoi.
Congratulations to Dwight School Hanoi student Thien Hai and his team, Team Resilience, who achieved an outstanding result, winning the qualifying round, earning the prestigious Design Award, and securing their place at the World Championship. We extend our best wishes to Thien Hai and Team Resilience as they represent Vietnam on the global stage, and we congratulate all participating teams for a great display of innovative learning
DWIGHT ATHLETICS
West Hanoi Sports League (WHSL) Upper School Basketball Tournament
Dwight School Hanoi was pleased to host the West Hanoi Sports League (WHSL) Upper School Basketball Tournament, welcoming seven schools and 13 teams to campus for a full day of competitive play.
Our Boys U16 team delivered a standout performance, stepping up to compete in the U19 division and finishing the tournament as champions, an impressive achievement for our young team that reflects their discipline and composure throughout the day.
Our girls’ team also competed with determination, finishing a strong 4th place and narrowly missing out on third after a series of close matches.
We commend both teams for representing Dwight School Hanoi with sportsmanship and pride.
DWIGHT DESTINATIONS - GLOBAL MUSIC CONCERT SHANGHAI
Dwight School Hanoi students recently traveled to Shanghai to take part in the Annual Dwight Global Music Concert, hosted at Shanghai Qibao Dwight High School.
The concert brought together student musicians from across the Dwight network to rehearse and perform together. Our students worked alongside peers from other campuses, gaining experience in ensemble performance and building connections through music.
The experience reflected Dwight’ s commitment to global vision and learning beyond the classroom. We are proud of our students for representing Dwight School Hanoi with care and professionalism.
Next on the Dwight Destinations calendar is our annual trip to Manchester, where students spend a week training and playing under the guidance of coaches from Manchester City at the City Football Academy. This experience offers students the opportunity to develop their skills in a professional training environment while learning from world-class coaches at one of football’ s leading facilities.
