School Life & Co-Curricular Highlights

The 2022-2023 school year thus far has seen dozens of D-E co-curricular programs both by and for our students in all three divisions, many of which have been also enjoyed by D-E faculty/staff, families, and friends. We’ve experienced a refreshing return to pre-pandemic traditions, and at the same time there have been many new activities and events which have also taken place on-campus. From the early September milestone event of painting the Senior Rock by the Class of 2023 and the Lower School’s Book Fair and Literary Explorations & Adventure Day (L.E.A.D.) Parade in October... to the Middle School’s Fall Pep Rally and TREP$ Marketplace (in which sixth graders developed, marketed, and then sold original products and services to raise funds for a charitable organization of their choice)... to a collaborative workshop co-facilitated by the Environmental Club and the Office of Engagement, there were so many hands-on opportunities to engage in both the opening and closing words of our mission:

“As a community... make it better.”

Leggett Field was host to many fun co-curricular events including the Lower School Fall Festival, the Upper School Clubs & Activities Fair, and the 2022 Turkey Bowl on the eve of Thanksgiving Break. And the all-School Spirit Week this year, during which the entire school dressed in thematic apparel including Pajama Day and D-E Day, helped to raise funds for victims of hurricane damage in Puerto Rico.
