New Vision Center Escuintla

ESCUINTLA VISION CENTER INAUGURATION

On Tuesday, September 6 we had the official inauguration of our ninth vision center, which aims to bring visual health to the department of Escuintla and its surroundings. In this activity we had the presence of our directors, managers and administrative staff of Visualiza clinics; we also had the valuable participation of the media from the south coast area as well as from the capital city. During the activity directed and coordinated by the marketing and communication department in collaboration with the Head of Vision Centers, in which we obtained data that showed a successful affluence of patients.

HOSPITAL VISUALIZA XELA

During the month of September we had again the participation of specialist doctors; and this time we had the valuable and important visit of Dr. Silvia Aceituno pediatric ophthalmologist, who performed strabismus procedures to children in the west of the country; where once again we are present in order to continue bringing visual health to all ages.

Visualiza Xela does not stop and this time we conducted a day at the nursing home “Varones de Misericordia”, where free consultations and detection of pathologies were performed.

HOSPITAL VINCENT PESCATORE

Our support does not stop and we continue bringing surgeries to people with limited resources. Visualiza together with its strategic ally Enfoque Ixcan carried out patient screening, where a considerable number of ocular ailments were detected. The people diagnosed will be treated at the Hospital Vicent Pescatore.

In order to continue providing a better service in our hospital, we have started the implementation of a new optical laboratory in the north of the country; this with the aim of streamlining, optimizing and innovating our optical service.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

During the month of September, training, conferences and workshops for our ophthalmologists were developed and conducted:

SAFE ANESTHESIA IN THE AMBULATORY PATIENT / EFFICIENT MANAGEMENT OF OPHTHALMOLOGIC ANESTHESIA.

For all our medical staff; as a goal, constant updating.

ATTENDANCE AND PRESENTATION OF INDIVIDUAL PAPERS AT THE EUROPEAN CONGRESS OF CATARACT, CORNEA AND REFRACTIVE SURGERY (ESCRS).

The doctors who attended the congress were Dr. Renato Papa and Dr. Gabriela Barrios, in order to update their knowledge.

CONGRESS OF THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF OPHTHALMOLOGY

AAO 2022. In which Dr. Lucia Silva participated as a speaker. The objective of this congress was the medical update, acquisition of new and innovative equipment that will be used by the institution.

SEVA AND ORBIS CONSERVATORY “WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP EYE HEALTH COFFEE HOURS”. Dr. Silvia Aceituno participated as a representative of Visualiza. The main objective was to participate in the discussion, advice and mentoring on the influence of the participants in education.

WORKSHOP ON TISSUE PREPARATION FOR ENDOTHELIAL TRANSPLANTS. Developed and conducted by Dr. Mariano Yee for anterior segment specialists (Dr. Nicolás Yee, Dr. Chuy, Dr. Papa). Aimed to train and update surgical techniques.

VISIT OF DR. LILYAN LEÓN AT THE SURGICAL RETINA CENTER WITH DR. INDER SINGHAL IN KENTUKY USA. The visit is for the purpose of implementation, feedback to generate ideas, make changes and innovations in our practice as a clinic.

In Visualiza one of our main commitments is with our human resources in their professional, psychological and physical development and their social environment; therefore, during the month different and important workshops were given, among which we find:

GREAT LEADERS ARE BORN FROM EMPATHY. Focused and directed to medical assistants, counseling, nutrition, finance and operating room. With the objective of knowing how to use empathy as a tool and characteristics of a leader.

HAND WASHING AND HAND HYGIENE.

Imparted to all our collaborators in order to reinforce their knowledge on proper hand washing, according to WHO standards.

COUNSELING OF VISUALIZATION PRODUCTS AND SERVICES CERTIFICATE.

Directed and focused on the pilot plan for counseling, optics and administration staff. This activity was carried out to provide practical tools on efficient counseling of our collaborators to Visualiza’s patients.
