INTERNATIONAL DAY OF GLAUCOMA

According to the OMS, it is estimated that worldwide 4.5 million people are blind due to glaucoma and 60 million people suffer from this disease.

Every March 12, World Glaucoma Day is commemorated with the aim of raising awareness among the population about this disease and promoting periodic ophthalmological check-ups.

Glaucoma Week was commemorated in Visualiza with the campaign “Don’t let Glaucoma change your life” focusing on general awareness about the disease and awareness of the importance of having eye exams. At Clínicas Visualiza we have been supporting Guatemalan society through discounts on study packages, medicines, free consultations for relatives with a history of glaucoma; this with the aim of detecting more population suffering from the disease and thus achieve early detection in order to have an effective medical follow-up.
