World Sight Day 2022

World Sight Day 2022 was held on Thursday, October 13; with the slogan “Love your Eyes”, to focus worldwide attention on blindness and visual impairment.

For Visualiza, World Sight Day is one of the most important and expected events of the year. During 2020 and 2021 we commemorated it always with our social focus but in a different way caused by the pandemic.

This 2022 we had the great opportunity to commemorate it as in previous years; this time providing more than 300 cataract surgeries to low-income people, in our social hospital in the capital city and hospitals in the interior of the country.

The aim of the this activity is to help those who suffer from cataract, to give them the opportunity to return to their activities and recover their normal life; thus benefiting each one of them and the people around them.

This encourages and motivates us to continue bringing visual health to the entire population of Guatemala.

To carry out the activity, all the departments that make up the clinic were coordinated.

The scope obtained for this activity in relation to external communication was derived from the strategies proposed, implemented and carried out by the marketing and communication department.

To obtain the achieved reach, interviews were conducted in Emisoras Unidas in the capital city as well as in the interior of the country, Guatevisión in the program Viva La Mañana, local departmental radios where they made live coverage in Hospitals and Vision Centers; also, there were several coverages by Diario De Centroamérica both the day of the event and days before the activity; informative articles by Soy502 and Publinews.
