Visualiza opens a new Vision Center!

Visualiza continues to grow and reach more places with visual health with the objective of continuing to eradicate blindness in the country. On February 1, the tenth vision center was inaugurated in the municipality of Guastatoya, El Progreso.

The Guastatoya vision center has optometry, telemedicine, optics and pharmacy services; this will help the detection and prevention of eye diseases.

With this we continue to cover more regions of the country.

Infrastructure improvements at the Visualiza Diabetic Center, in order to provide safety to patients and our collaborators. The installation of a security structure, signaling for the best orientation to the patient of our services and an audiovisual equipment with educational videos was installed.

OUTREACH ACTIVITIES

Continue with continuous improvements and ensuring the well-being of our patients. Cubulco Baja Verapaz surgical care day. With the support of AIDEPCE, in the department of Baja Verapaz, various surgeries and evaluations were performed, mostly on children from the community, the cases treated in the surgeries were cataracts, pterygium, strabismus, and tear mass resection, and cases were detected. of diabetes and high blood pressure.

Post-surgical day at Mesilla Huehuetenango. In the department of Huehuetenango, follow-up of posoperative patients was carried out, where more than 30 patients were treated for pterygium and cataract surgery. In addition, new patients were also evaluated to detect ocular pathologies to be treated.

Outreach activity Democracia Escuintla. In the southern center of the country, the conference team managed to evaluate more than 80 patients where cases of cataracts and pterygium were detected, several of them were referred to our social clinic in zone 9 to be treated by our medical team .

Outreach activity Hogar Magone eye evaluation. Supporting the social work of Hogar Magone, more than 85 evaluations were carried out on young children and adults, most of them from the Aguacate community, located in Mixco. Several cases were detected during the day and referred to the zone 9 social clinic.

Eye evaluation day at the Marina Guirola Home. In the month of February, the evaluation of special care patients with TDH (physical and neurological disabilities) was carried out. 33 patients were evaluated at the site and provided with information on adequate eye hygiene.

Periorbital traumatic reconstruction. Training aimed at ophthalmologists, providing information on maxillofacial trauma and orbital reconstruction in adult patients for the evaluation of their clinical results.

Orbital Cellulite. Aimed at ophthalmologists to know the generalities of orbital cellulitis, such as its duration, diagnosis and frequent complications.
