Visualiza continues growing and innovating in the Vision Centers Visualiza Clinic at Quetzaltenango opens in October 2020. Currently has areas ophthalmology, teleconsultation, optometry, optics, and pharmacy.

Vision Centers This 2021, Visualiza clinic has spread out to new Guatemala departments and municipalities, such as San Marcos and Sayaxché (Petén); new Vision Centers were incorporating into the already existing in Chimaltenango and Poptún(Petén); the Vision Centers offers services of optometry, optics, pharmacy and soon general medicine and teleconsultation

Upcoming openings With the eagerness to continue growing and reach to more Guatemalan, we have set the goal of opening new vision centers in Totonicapán and Huehuetenango.

New Diabetic Center Facilities Based on the need to provide better care to our diabetic patients, we to move the Visualiza Diabetic Center to the new facilities located on the 4th. The glaucoma medical team was part of the World Glaucoma e-congress on June 30, 2021. They participated in the conference entitled EFFICACY AND SAFETY OF COMBINED MANUAL SMALL INCISION CATARACT SURGERY AND CYCLODIALYSIS IN A LOW INCOME POPULATION.

In July, at the initiative of Dr. Mariano Yee, a conference entitled Evaluation and Laboratories in the Preoperative period of Ophthalmology patients was given, presented

by Dr. Gena Damento and Dr. Neal Shorstein. In which several doctors, Visualiza collaborators in Guatemala and other countries participated.

On Monday, July 19 the Retinologist team developed the lecture of the updated Endophthalmitis Protocol Management to train the ophthalmologist’s team and to have more efficient procedures and updated.

In the first week of July, the updated Optometry Protocol has been delivered to the vision centers, social and private clinic. With the delivery of the protocols, t the Training Department will start the trainings to the staff.

In the month of August, SAP Tutorials will be carried out, which will be worked together with the IT and Training Department, this will be to have reference material and expand knowledge about the use and management of SAP with its different modules.

Inclusive Visualiza during the month of June and July, the team received constant workshops and talks of inclusion service, this in order to be able to provide better care and offer adequate spaces to people with disabilities.

We continue to bring visual health to all: In July, primary eye health activities were carried out in the municipality of Tacaná, San Marcos; led by the Comprehensive Visual Health Promotion Unit, supporting more than 80 patients who need of cataract surgery.

They were cared for by Dr. Aida Monzón and her team (nursing, optician, pharmacy), and operated by Dr. Edgar Ogaldez.
