HOW TO WRITE AN ARTIST STATEMENT & EXHIBITION PROPOSAL

Page 1

AN ARTIST STATEMENT is a brief introduction of you and your work. The goal of an artist statement is to communicate what your body of work is like, and what you’re about as an artist.

A PROPOSAL is a document that outlines your intentions for a project. The purpose of this document is usually to communicate the scope and objectives of the finished work, in order to seek resources for the work’s completion.

WE’LL START WITH QUESTIONS FOR AN ARTIST STATEMENT.

NOW LET’S ASK THE SAME QUESTIONS FOR A PROPOSAL.
