We are honored to be recognizing a group of incredible individuals whose compassion, courage, and support offer a lifeline to families struggling with serious illnesses. Our Champions of Hope honorees Drs. Atara and Dael Geft are passionately dedicated partners, devoted to making sick kids’ lives better. Through their involvement in Young Leaders, they have spread joy and light to countless children. Their consistent commitment to giving, whether of their time, energy, or even their home exemplifies the values of Chai Lifeline. Our devoted friends of Chai Lifeline, the Ellman family are the deserving recipients of the Champions of Courage award. Their fortitude and strength have served as a personal as well as organizational inspiration as they fought little Ari’s cancer. Throughout the struggle, the Ellman’s have faced each day with unprecedented courage, grace, and dignity and we are honored to have them here with us tonight. We are also excited to honor our beloved Los Angeles Dodgers, who have partnered with Chai Lifeline West Coast for over twenty years. The Dodger organization goes above and beyond to ensure our families have the time of their lives at the annual Chai Lifeline Dodgers Day, one of the most anticipated events of the year. It’s an honor to recognize their kindness and generosity with the Spirit of Community Award. CHAI LIFELINE VOLUNTEERS Each year we are blessed with the most amazing group of individuals who we can call upon when a family is in need. We appreciate each and every one of you who so beautifully shares your heart and time with our Chai Lifeline children. Big Brother/Sister volunteers, each week you visit children who face ongoing battles and bring friendship, love and happiness to their homes. Hospital volunteers, you bring positive energy and joy to each child, helping to distract and pass time at the hospital. Their day would not be the same without your visit! Tutor volunteers, you share your educational background helping a child accomplish their homework each week and succeed at school. Your support helps alleviate parental stress and boosts a child to excel in their academics. Birthday volunteers, you put on silly hats and bring out the party fun to celebrate a Chai Lifeline child’s birthday. You light up their special day and bring joy, smiles and laughter while they or a parent battle serious illness. Delivery and On-Call volunteers, you find the time every day to eagerly fulfill any requests, big and small. From delivering a meal, packing hospital Shabbat kits, to wrapping gifts, and so much more...we cannot thank you enough for all that you do!
