Importance of Fall Protection Systems Fall protection systems are important as falls are considered to be among the most common causes of work related injuries and deaths in factories and other industries.

Employers must

implement proper work place fall protection systems to prevent employees from falling off of elevated work stations, overhead platforms, or into holes in the floor and walls. According to OSHA guidelines fall protection should be provided when there is an elevation of at least four feet in work places. It suggest that the use of fall protection equipment is mandatory regardless of the fall distance. In addition to fall protection aids, there are certain other guidelines that should be followed like: Providing working conditions that are free of any known dangers. Keeping the floors in work areas in a clean and in a dry condition to avoid slipping of employees. Selecting and providing required personal protective equipment at zero cost to workers. Proper training of workers about the job hazards they will face in the work place.
