1933 LEGACY GIVING SOCIETY

Durham Academy traces its beginnings to 1933, when seven students and one teacher met in the Forest Hills Clubhouse, which still stands at Forest Hills Park. The school was established by George Watts Hill and his wife, Ann McCulloch Hill, and named Calvert Method School to honor her childhood education at Baltimore’s Calvert School. The 1933 Legacy Society honors donors who have made a gift to Durham Academy through philanthropic planning. Membership is extended to all who made a provision in their estate plan to benefit the school. If you have included Durham Academy in your estate planning or would like to learn more about creative giving options, please contact Assistant Director of Family Philanthropy Caylan Ashworth at caylan.ashworth@da.org.
