Why use a Dulux AcraTex Roof Membrane to PROTECT your roof instead of paint?

The capacity of a roof coating to expand and compress without breaking down or delaminating is one of its most essential properties. When heated and cooled, substances move, which happens on daily basis. If a coating does not move with the substrate, it will split/crack or separate from it. Moisture will enter the substrate beneath the coating in both circumstances, resulting in the coating's eventual breakdown. Elongation and tensile strength, both of which are boosted by Dry Film Thickness, are two essential aspects in a coating's capacity to accept this movement. A membrane outperforms paint, as seen in the table below, because it has a higher thickness per coat and more "elasticity." Compare "apples with apples" when comparing coatings. Compare the test results from independent agencies to assess its suitability if it is a true membrane (from a recognised provider). A membrane's ability to "breathe," allowing water vapour to escape from the substrate while preventing water from penetrating the coating, is another crucial feature.
