Recently, when the winner of a grand prix crosses the finish line, their entire pit crew is on the pit wall cheering them on. This has led to some of the most iconic photos throughout the years. The pure joy and excitement on the faces of the winning or even podium-placing team is a sight to behold. Now, these moments are gone due to a recent rule enforcement that was put in place before the Melbourne Grand Prix. Released in pre-weekend event safety notes, F1 race director Niels Wittich noted that “it is forbidden to climb on pitwall debris fence at any time.”
