he arrival of a new Ferrari anniversary supercar is always something to behold: You’re guaranteed a scarlet automotive marvel that’ll knock your socks o if you ever got behind the wheel, featuring dramatic styling to go with its huge power output, and a reaction that spans the spectrum of usage for the words “Mamma Mia!”

In this month’s cover story, Tyler Rampersaud dissects the technology-packed new F80. The numbers and specifications for this car are incredible, yet it’s endured a mixed reception by critics. It reminds me of what happened when the now iconic F40 was launched: The final road car personally approved by Enzo Ferrari, it’s become a renowned work of automotive art. But, back in the day, seasoned observers labelled it a cynical attempt to cash in on speculators’ money, after seeing how much was paid for used 288 GTOs, and declared it inferior to the Porsche 959.

The F40 featured a turbocharged V8 – and it’s another howl of disapproval that the F80 uses a V6 hybrid turbo engine, which produces a stunning 1,200 horsepower, but not the wonderful noise of a V12 of its predecessor, the LaFerrari. To me, just like the F40 was in 1987, the F80 feels a victim of its times. These criticisms will fade away.

Another to carry the burden of an automotive legend is Bugatti’s Director of Design Frank Heyl. In our interview, he outlines to Gabriel Vega Cortés his ethos about what it takes to produce a timeless classic. In the DRIVE section, to complete our supercar set, we get behind the wheel of Pagani’s latest V12powered o ering, the Utopia.

MASTERPIECE

Meet the F80, Ferrari’s radical new halo car. •••

When opened, the F80’s butterfly doors can rotate to an angle close to 90-degrees.

AAmong collectors and enthusiasts, a lineage of exclusive Ferrari models has formed a group called the Big Five. Consisting of the 288 GTO, the F40, the F50, the Enzo, and the LaFerrari, each represents the pinnacle of performance-oriented engineering of its time, and each has attained a highly respected legacy as one of the world’s most coveted collector cars, with a price tag to match. However, a new era is dawning, and Ferrari is turning its Big Five into the Big Six with the F80, its new halo car. Like its predecessors, the F80 is the ultimate expression of Ferrari’s hypercar performance, and it’s actually the most powerful roadgoing Ferrari yet. The F80’s futuristic design language and unprecedented approaches signal the beginning of a new chapter in Ferrari’s history, and as time passes, there’s no doubt that the F80 will go down as a legendary milestone.

To address the elephant in the room, the Ferrari F80’s most controversial aspect is the fact that, in lieu of a V12 or a V8, the powertrain is a twinturbocharged V6 hybrid setup, similar to the Ferrari 499P racing hypercar that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice. The combustion half consists of a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6, which alone musters 900 horsepower, giving it an incredible 300 horsepower per liter ratio. Combine that with the first electric motor to be entirely developed, tested, and manufactured by Ferrari itself, and the F80 gets a grand total of 1,200 horsepower.

AT THE REAR OF THE F80 IS WHERE THE ACTIVE WING CAN BE FOUND. THIS WING CAN ADJUST ITS HEIGHT AND ANGLE FOR EITHER A HIGH DOWNFORCE OR LOW DRAG CONFIGURATION.

The F80’s 3.0-liter V6 engine, boosted by two turbochargers, produces 900 horsepower at peak output.

WITH HALF THE CYLINDERS OF ITS PREDECESSOR, THE FERRARI F80

EMERGES AS

THE BRAND’S NEW HALO CAR AND THE MOST POWERFUL ROADGOING MODEL THAT THE PRANCING HORSE HAS EVER PRODUCED.

Sending power to all four wheels and weighing just 3,362 pounds dry, the F80 promises a truly blistering 0-60 time of just 2.15 seconds, with a top speed of roughly 217 mph. Its on-track performance is further enhanced by the F80’s highly advanced and aggressive active aerodynamics, including a massive rear wing that changes height and angle continuously to optimize performance in various driving situations. Its other performance-oriented features include its completely independent active suspension and its bespoke braking system which was developed in collaboration with Brembo.

Throughout, the Ferrari F80’s design is simultaneously a departure from and an homage to its predecessors. It sports a two-tone look, including a black “mustache” above the front fascia, and its angular shapes are redolent to the seasoned enthusiast of the legendary Ferrari F40. Inside, the cabin takes a unique approach. Rather than considering it a two-seater, Ferrari refers to the interior configuration of the F80 as a “+1.” This is highlighted by the di erent colors of the driver and passenger seats, but more importantly, by the passenger’s location being set slightly rearward from the driver seat, allowing the interior to take up less space without sacrificing accommodations. The controls are also focused around the driver, and the bespoke steering wheel ditches haptic controls for buttons that are easier to use on the track.

The F80’s incredible power and status as the glittering new Ferrari halo car mean that it is, of course, highly exclusive and pricey, as well. A total number of 799 Ferrari clients have reserved examples of the new Ferrari F80 for a staggering starting price tag of $3.9 million. However, the stunning new hypercar will undoubtedly prove to be a coveted collector-grade masterpiece with historical and investment value as the years go by. With half the cylinders of its predecessor, the F80 emerges as the brand’s new halo car and the most powerful roadgoing model that the Prancing Horse has ever produced. Evolving the LaFerrari’s hybrid approach, and its other predecessors’ racing-derived excellence, the new Ferrari F80 takes V6 hybrid power, and Ferrari’s automotive excellence as a whole, to new heights.

WHY SHORTSIGHTED CRITICISM OF THE FERRARI F80 WILL FADE OVER TIME

Opinion: The Prancing Horse’s new halo car has stirred up the haters, but why when it’s the most powerful, technology-packed supercar it’s ever produced?

When Ferrari’s flagship F80 first broke cover, the car’s mindblowing stats and the hype surrounding its launch were o the charts. This was undoubtedly going to be the best Ferrari – EVER!

But then, especially after the car was seen and heard on track at the Finali Mondial event at Imola, the narrative flipped. Social media and the automotive press got their claws out in equal measure, and started ripping into Maranello’s latest anniversary special, for the way it sounded (too quiet), the way it looked (boxy styling, a mustache on its nose) and whether its $4 million price tag lived up to those heady earlier expectations.

Let’s address the three main criticisms of the F80, and take a wider view…

1: The engine sound isn’t loud enough

The fact that Ferrari used a V6 engine for the extension of its ‘Big Five’ – the 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, and LaFerrari – was always going to attract criticism, because we’ve been spoiled by the sonorous V12s of the three most recent models. That said, the 288 GTO and F40 both feature V8 turbos, which reflected the Formula 1 racing engine architecture of the time, producing altogether di erent harmonics.

But isn’t this simply a case of Ferrari moving with the times? Its Formula 1 cars – the pinnacle of all motorsports – have been powered by V6 hybrid turbos since 2014. The F80 also uses the same three-liter F163CF, twin-turbo, 120-degree V6 power unit from the two-time Le Mans 24 Hours-winning 499P racing hypercar.

Ferrari was very keen to celebrate this epic success, as prior to 2023 it hadn’t won outright at Le Mans, the twice-around-the-clock French sportscar classic, since 1965! It’s a dream for a manufacturer to win such a prestigious trial of speed and endurance, which dates back to 1923, beating the likes of Cadillac, Lamborghini, and Porsche at the 100th anniversary race before going back-to-back in 2024.

That race-proven V6 hybrid powerplant, boasting 1200 horsepower thanks to three additional electric motors, is harnessed by 1050kg of downforce (at 250km/h) from its advanced

aerodynamics, making it the most powerful road-going Ferrari ever created. It boasts some very smart fuel injection technology too, which means it can deliver huge performance numbers while complying with increasingly tighter emission controls.

Like the 499P Le Mans winner, the F80 packs all-wheel drive and takes onboard many of the weight-saving lessons learned from the racing car, while the shape of both cars comes from the Ferrari Styling Center that delivers on its stated aim of ‘extreme design language that accentuates a race-bred soul’.

And this road-modified internal combustion engine – which actually produces north of 200bhp more than the racer – revs to just over 9,000rpm, which isn’t bad for a turbo-assisted engine, coupled with a sound-absorbing MGU-H and those quiet electric motors. Exhausts can certainly be tweaked to make them louder, but this is a sound of the high-tech times if you like. It’s also worth noting that Ferrari has filed a patent for an amplification system that would magnify the sound of an electric motor and reroute it through the back of the car.

F1 fans have a long since stopped bleating about engine notes –even if they’d prefer V8s, V10s or V12s, there’s no going back now. Compare it to the Mercedes-AMG Project One, which has a V6 hybrid turbo engine derived from its F1 program, which shows how keen manufacturers are to transfer racing technology into their road cars.

THE F80 ALSO USES THE SAME THREE-LITER F163CF, TWIN-TURBO, 120-DEGREE V6 POWER UNIT FROM THE TWO-TIME LE MANS 24 HOURSWINNING 499P RACING HYPERCAR.

2: It has a black mustache across its nose

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder: Across the road car market right now is a number of ‘statement’ front-end designs. And the F80 certainly stands out in this regard. I don’t know about you, but the carbon fiber black ‘mustache’ between the headlights certainly gives it some front-facing attitude!

The nose contains a front wing and a splitter, just like the Le Mans racer, plus an F1-style S-duct, and a hidden triplane of aerodynamic devices. This is very much a product of function as well as form – and the styling does look like the wild-looking racing hypercars you’ll see in the World Endurance Championship. You can argue this has a more racecar-influenced design than any of the ‘Big Five’ that went before.

If the F80 has a styling issue, it can be blamed on the direction of travel for modern racing car design, with its boxy looks. As mentioned earlier, both the F80 and 499P are the products of the Ferrari Styling Centre, headed by Flavio Manzoni, and this look reflects the aim that Ferrari’s supercars should ‘represent the pinnacle of cutting-edge technology and innovation of its era’ allowing them to become ‘enshrined in popular culture’.

And those stark, somewhat brutalist lines that have resulted in a quest for radical design cues are quite the contrast to the postmillennium beauty of the Enzo, LaFerrari, F8, and the Daytona SP3.

The outcry reminds me of how the F50 was received 30 years ago. It too was criticised for its aggressive styling – especially with that

large rear wing. But, let’s face it, perhaps the F50’s main problem was it came so soon after the production run of the beautifully proportioned F40 ended. Talk about a tough act to follow!

Yet the F50’s rarity has proved to make it an even smarter investment, which we’ll come to next…

3: It’s way too expensive

Tell that to the 799 customers who’ve each already reserved this car for $3.9 million. You can argue that Lamborghini reset the bar here with its $4 million 50th anniversary Veneno – and that was launched over ten years ago! Bugatti and Pagani have both launched some insane hypercars well beyond that figure.

Ferrari’s price point is, of course, well in excess of its previous halo car, the LaFerrari, which retailed around the $1.4 million mark – although the Aperta that followed cost $2 million. Sure, the F80 is e ectively double that figure, but LaFerraris are reselling at $3-5 million on the market right now – with an example of the even rarer Aperta currently listed at $5.8m.

And that’s the big financial point: the depreciation fear for Ferrari’s flagships have been eradicated over time. According to duPont REGISTRY’s data, Enzos now cost between $3-$4.5 million (not bad considering its $650,000 launch price).

On average, F50s cost around $5 million (one topped out at $5.5m at Sotheby’s Monterey this year) which e ectively adds a zero to the retail price in 1995. F40s (launched at $400k) have risen to around $2-4m – although, amazingly, one was listed in duPont REGISTRY magazine for $250k in 1992, surely one of the biggest bargains ever given what’s happened since?

Meantime, the 288 GTO – the classic model which started it all – has provided a massive return on its 1984 launch RRP of $85k to price ranges of up to $4.5m.

At the bottom of the page is a snapshot of the latest market, including the highest transactions for each model recorded this year…

Back to the F80: Remember, an awful lot of cutting-edge technology has gone into this car. It also boasts an active suspension system that is way more advanced than those of its previous supercars, operated by four motors at each corner. Those give it exceptional ride stability to go with all that downforce, which includes the huge moveable rear wing, and the Le Mans racer power unit.

So, was Ferrari trying to second guess the resale market, to ensure it didn’t starve itself of potential revenue by undervaluing this car? According to duPont REGISTRY’s figures, a projected resale price point for an F80 will be between $6-8 million, depending on market forces, so this high retail number should certainly be justified in the future.

Also over time, once that tiresome pearl clutching on social media has subsided, the outcry over its sound and nose design will likely vanish too, as the F80 makes it Ferrari’s ‘Big Six’.

Spark joy.

When you start a Taycan, you start something so much bigger. Stunning acceleration takes you from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. Improved agility and increased driving range with up to an EPA estimated range of 318 miles of optional Performance Battery Plus only add to the thrill. Go ahead, press “on.”

THE BUGAT TI OF TOMORROW

The Bugatti Tourbillon, the marque’s third act, debuted last year as the ultimate mic-drop moment. It set the tone for Monterey Car Week, incorporating a sleek new body, an interior devoid of screens, and a naturally aspirated engine and electric motor combo that promises as much engagement as it does speed. However, unlike seven-figure machines that chase lap times or performance figures, the Tourbillon isn’t just for today; Bugatti wants it to be relevant a century from now.

WORDS : Gabriel Vega Cortés

Last year, during The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, we sat down with Bugatti Director of Design Frank Heyl to discuss how to build a timeless machine.

dR : Before the Tourbillon took shape, what inspired you and your team, and how did it influence its build and design?

FH: If we look at the way these cars have endured the decades, and sometimes centuries in these collections, there’s one thing that is at the root of every designer’s thinking. It’s the concept of time machines. Yesterday, we were at Laguna Seca, and there was a Type 35 from 1924, and it’s here in the year 2024.

This thing is 100 years old. It’s no exaggeration or marketing. It’s a crazy thing. They’ll still be around after we’re all dead. You have to take that into account to make them timeless.

dR: How do you ensure that a car will be timeless so far into the future?

FH: Trying to avoid technology, and showing technology. That’s where the idea to create a machined interface came from. When you open the door, it’s a digital detox. It’s something that can’t be dated. So we have a little screen if you want to have Apple CarPlay, but you can also hit a switch, and it’s gone. In 100 years, you won’t even use it, and the car will function without it.

Number 2, it needs to be authentic, and through being genuine, it can be timeless. That’s why there are analog dials and needles; it’s like an exquisite watch.

“IT’S NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN PUT IN ONES AND ZEROS. IT’S HUMAN THINGS, EMOTIONAL THINGS. HOW DO YOU PERCEIVE ALL OF THESE SENSATIONS THAT WE’RE OFFERING YOU?”

dR: When it comes to cars this powerful and expensive, has performance become less important than its design and interior materials?

FH: It’s going to be plenty fast, and it’s easy to say what I’m going to say now if you have those numbers, but it’s almost not that relevant anymore. From now on, these things will be faster than you can drive them. And so, if that’s not the thing, what is it?

It’s not something you can put in ones and zeros. It’s human things, emotional things. How do you perceive all of these sensations that we’re o ering you? How do you feel when you sit in the driver’s seat? The way the leather smells, the weight of the controls. If you click a gear selector, does it feel like pulling the trigger on a sniper rifle? That’s why we went with a naturally aspirated 9,000rpm 64-valve piece of art. Because you want to hear the sound. You want to be immersed in the vibration. So it’s about appealing to your senses, and you can’t put that in numbers.

THE PAGANI DNA

The Utopia is built following a singular vision. One that both defines perfection and is integral to its success.

WORDS : Gabriel Vega Cortés

What wouldn’t you give to have lunch with Enzo Ferrari? Or to attend a dinner party hosted by Ettore Bugatti at his illustrious mid-19th century Château? Over the last few decades, the small, independent automaker has virtually gone extinct. Of course, the way cars are made has drastically changed. You can’t get face time with the Ferraris and Bugattis of the world because they no longer exist. Even machines with sevenfigure price tags are rarely built following a singular vision. Their purpose and construction are often defined through consensus. A process by which, even if the result is technically impressive, struggles to produce a definable DNA.

The Pagani Utopia, the Italian marque’s third act, feels like the byproduct of a di erent time. It isn’t just an 864-horsepower rolling sculpture made of exotic materials. In many ways, it is Horacio Pagani. Whether you’re stuck by its curvaceous bodywork, learn about the 40 types of carbon fiber developed to build it, or peer through its meticulously crafted details, you’ll find evidence of Pagani’s influence everywhere you look. Like Gordon Murray’s personal philosophy defines the McLaren F1, or how Ferdinand Piëch’s strenuous engineering demands birthed the Bugatti Veyron, a car like the Utopia could only ever be a Pagani.

The Utopia delivers, above all else, a sensory experience. Engaging first gear requires a firm pull of its central shifter,

its exposed linkage tilting and eventually clicking as you reach the back of its gated pattern, or a tug of its carbon fiber paddles. Its flat-bottom steering wheel machined out of a single piece of aluminum, is wrapped in leather, adorned with visible screws, and sporting only the necessary switchgear. Up ahead, a column-mounted cluster houses back-lit and hollowed gauges split by the Utopia’s only display. At the same time, smaller dials and switches puncture through an aluminum panel on its dashboard.

Tug on its right carbon fiber paddle and its singleclutch automated manual will slot in the next gear with the tenderness of a bolt-action rifle. The jolt is startling at low speeds, straight-up violent under full acceleration, but endlessly thrilling. While a dual-clutch unit would’ve been quicker, building one that can contain the 811 lb-ft of torque its AMG-developed V12 generates would’ve meant considerable weight gains. Yet, from behind the wheel, you wouldn’t want the Utopia to be tame. A machine costing seven figures should have a strong sense of occasion.

A sense that only grows as both of its turbochargers begin to spool, producing 864 hp once fully wound up. In a world where high-powered EVs are abundant, we could be lulled into thinking that’s not a significant number, that is, until you remember that the Utopia is built almost entirely out of

A machine costing seven figures should have a strong sense of occasion.

•••

carbon fiber. This includes carbo-triax and carbo-titanium blends developed by Pagani. The result is a 2,822 lb dry weight figure that undercuts most high-powered hypercars.

The e ects of this meticulous weight saving are profound, both in terms of raw acceleration and the Utopia’s handling. Despite power going exclusively to its back wheels, it manages a sub-three-second sprint to 60 mph. Yet even as you ride a ferocious wave of torque that builds to a crescendo, the Utopia carries this speed through corners thanks to its wide track, bespoke Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber, and lack of excess mass. It’s agile, responsive, and thoroughly involving. Its steering is heavy, precise, and quick, like many of its other controls, while its brakes are firm but easy to modulate.

This abundance of feedback, however, serves the Utopia’s overarching goal. By providing a sensory experience that begins with its styling, is followed up by its cabin of levers and switches, and reinforced with a thrilling drive, it never lets you forget that you’re driving something special.

There’s a throughline in this car’s DNA that is only possible when there’s a clear vision driving its development. Horacio Pagani’s influence isn’t just evident down to the minute details. It’s integral to the Utopia’s success.

SILVER STAR TURNS RED

WORDS : Charles Bradley Why Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari deal goes beyond F1

TThe day Ferrari revealed Lewis Hamilton, the seventime world champion, was joining its Formula 1 team for 2025, its New York Stock Exchange price rose over 10%, adding $7 billion to its net worth. This reflected the mighty scale of one of the biggest coups in F1 history, as the sport gears up to celebrate its 75th season.

The swoop was personally orchestrated by Ferrari’s president John Elkann, chosen heir of his maternal grandfather, the late Fiat titan Gianni Agnelli. It’s worth noting the intriguing internal political situation here, as the Agnelli family’s trust owns around 23% of Ferrari, with Piero Ferrari (son of founder Enzo) recently creating a succession plan for his daughter Antonella and grandsons Enzo Mattioli Ferrari and Piero Galassi Ferrari. Piero is the second largest Ferrari shareholder at around 10%.

Elkann and Ferrari’s F1 team principal Frederic Vasseur (in whose teams Hamilton starred during junior days) played essential roles in making this deal happen. It’s reportedly worth up to $100 million per year for the Briton, who turns 40 before he steps foot inside its scarlet race car. The Cavallino Rampante, or Prancing Horse, has at least been in the fight for the F1 constructors’ championship in 2024 – a title it hadn’t claimed since 2008. Coincidentally, that was the same year as Hamilton’s first drivers’ title with McLaren… Fast forward to 2025, and Hamilton has won another six championships with Mercedes and been knighted by the British royal family. His global sporting profile – comparable with fellow gigastars Tiger Woods and LeBron James – has appealed to a far broader audience than F1 fans, becoming a prominent activist for increased diversity and social justice. His interests in fashion and music have also increased his influence outside of the cockpit, and his philanthropism and charity work mean Ferrari is not only getting one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time, but a genuine icon with mass appeal.

It won’t have escaped Ferrari’s notice that luxury segment rival Lamborghini achieved over 10,000 global sales last year, the first time in the brand’s 60-year history that it’s broken into five figures. With a third of those sales coming in the United States, Lamborghini’s demographic has shifted towards a younger customer

After a dozen seasons in Formula 1 with Mercedes, with whom he scored six world titles, Lewis Hamilton will drive for Ferrari in 2025.

base; some predict that the majority of its 2025 customers will be under 40. In having a champion for diversity, and the only ever Black F1 driver with a major U.S. following, you can see why Ferrari wishes to be represented by a middle-aged cultural phenomenon to grab a piece of that action.

Hamilton also has a strong Ferrari-owning history, buying a 599 GTO in 2010, before replacing it with a 599 SA Aperta. His collection includes both a LaFerrari, in which he was famously spotted driving around Beverley Hills with Justin Bieber, and an incredible LaFerrari Aperta.

Ferrari actually signed Hamilton before the 2024 campaign had even started, pouncing on an exit clause that occurred in the middle of the Mercedes driver’s two-year contract to entice him to Italy. “The opportunity just popped up,” Hamilton admitted in a BBC podcast. “I didn’t have a lot of time to think, and I had to just go with my gut feeling. I decided to take the opportunity.”

The hype for the 2025 F1 season will be o the scale, and Hamilton stated: “I feel incredibly fortunate, after achieving things with Mercedes that I could only have dreamed of as a kid, that I now have the chance to fulfil another childhood dream: Driving in Ferrari red.”

Speaking at the Trento Sports Festival, Vasseur claimed “it was not that di cult to convince Lewis” to join Ferrari. “I remember that in 2005 we were together (in Formula 3),” Vasseur added. “At the time he was tied

“I DIDN’T HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO THINK, AND I HAD TO JUST GO WITH MY GUT FEELING. I DECIDED TO TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY”

to McLaren-Mercedes, but he already had in mind that sooner or later he would go to Ferrari.”

Elkann told Corriere dello Sport: “[Hamilton] wants to win his eighth title, Ferrari wants to win and with Lewis they are stronger. He doesn’t come to Ferrari to enjoy his retirement and it’s important to have motivated people around, who want to win.”

Before he exploded onto the F1 scene with McLarenMercedes in 2007, Hamilton used to play computer games as Michael Schumacher, with whom he’s tied on a record seven titles, because Lewis wondered what it would feel like to be “surrounded by red”.

While his driving talents are undoubted, no other driver can boast three figures for Grand Prix victories, there’s more to this accord than signing Hamilton to extend his winning record. Like Schumacher’s F1 return with Mercedes in 2010, this is a multi-faceted deal that ensures a fresh mix of the Ferrari and Hamilton brands will grab the world’s attention.

PRESERVING YOUR SPORT FISHING VESSEL: THE ESSENTIAL ROLE OF MARINE PROTECTION FILM AND CERAMIC COATING.

Sport fishing boat owners understand the importance of keeping their vessels in peak condition, both for performance and visual appeal. To achieve this, Marine Protection Film (MPF) and Marine Ceramic Coating are essential solutions that protect your boat’s exterior and interior from the harsh marine environment. By adding these advanced protective layers, your boat gains effective defense against UV rays, saltwater, and minor impact damage, making maintenance effortless while ensuring your investment remains pristine for years.

For custom-wrapped boats, such as this Viking 58 yacht serviced by SI Yachts, this protection becomes invaluable. Used as a demo for SI Yachts, the Viking 58 was showcased at several fishing tournaments, attracting potential buyers, and ultimately selling within five months. Never Ride Stock (NRS) Marine proudly introduced SI Yachts to the XPEL Marine product line, applying a custom-designed vinyl wrap for brand visibility, complemented by XPEL Marine Protection Film—a protective film specifically engineered to preserve the integrity and appearance of vinyl wraps and painted/Gel-coated surfaces. This multi-layered strategy kept the wrap in excellent condition, safeguarding it from the harsh marine elements and physical wear.

Additionally, our ceramic coating provides a hydrophobic layer over the entire vessel that repels water, salt, and grime, simplifying cleanup and maintenance. This coating not only delivers a glossy, polished finish that enhances the boat's aesthetic but also minimizes long-term upkeep by offering protection against corrosion and oxidation. With XPEL Marine Protection Film and Ceramic Coating, boat owners can enjoy peace of mind, knowing their vessels are shielded even in extreme conditions. For those who value both performance and appearance, these solutions offer an unrivaled combination of durability and elegance, extending the life and luster of your boat for years to come.

To schedule a consultation and safeguard your investment, contact Christian Zagami at NRS Marine at 648-887-8468 or visit www.nrsrestyling.com for more information.

THE VAN THAT OUTDOES ALL OTHERS

Unmatched in power, luxury, and off-grid capability, the RC-1 by Rogue Van Company redefines what a van can be.

As the world of custom Sprinter-based vans continues to crowd with dozens of builders embracing the platform in strikingly similar ways, the RC-1 asks: “What if?” Built by Rogue Van Company, located in San Diego, CA, the RC-1 rejects the familiar and embraces the conceptual. It’s the brainchild of RVC founder and CEO Santiago Fileta, designed to showcase the company’s customization prowess on display at SEMA. It’s a van that pushes what this wellknown chassis is capable of. From its o -roading capabilities to its expansive amenities and e-bike crane, the RC-1 pushes the idea of a rugged van to its limits.

What started as a 170-inch high-roof chassis van has morphed into a genuine o -roader with a two-inch lift, adjustable shocks, electronic lockers, upgraded axles, and beefy Toyo 37-inch tires on all four corners. However, despite these massive changes beneath the skin, RVC has retained all of its factory tech suite, ranging from cruise control to safety systems like lane-keep assist. Its adjustable shocks can soften considerably while o -roading, while firming up on the road to keep body motions in check. Depending on the situation, an added central touchscreen o ers a handful of throttle maps to smooth its power delivery.

On the outside, it sports no less than three ladders, which lead up to a roof equipped with Starlink for o -the-grid connectivity and a space where an additional roof tent can be added. Along its sides, you’ll find a complete Snap-On tool set, finished in a matching shade of yellow, while the rear houses a spare wheel and tire, an external storage area, and an Super 73 E-bike on top. The latter

weighs around 150 pounds, requiring a custom crane system for easy storage.

Inside, its customization touches are equally extensive. The RC-1 relies heavily on Cedar for its interior paneling, parallel to configurable strips of LEDs on the roof. Its table tops combine Walnut with epoxy to create a flowing river e ect. Its kitchenette incorporates a fridge, wine cooler, freezer, and an expresso machine that stows beneath its sink. Open its drawers, and you’ll find bespoke kitchenware, including a range of knives explicitly built for the RC-1.

Beyond the traditional shower and toilet setup, the RC-1 incorporates a steam element, which, coupled with doors that create a perfect seal, o ers sauna capabilities. A custom premium audio system introduces a variety of hidden speakers throughout the cabin, which pair with a TV positioned above the bed or a display hidden behind a mirror in the kitchenette.

A sizable 28-kilowatt-hour battery pack powers the RC-1’s amenities, while a 900-watt walkable panel system on the roof recharges it alongside the Sprinter’s engine.

The RC-1 is the ultimate Sprinter-based o -roading van, and it’s currently o ered for sale with an asking price of $700,000. Like all of RVC’s builds, it comes with a 3-year / 36,000-mile conversion warranty alongside the 5 Year / 100,000 Mile coverage from Mercedes-Benz. However, unlike the builder’s other projects, there will only ever be one RC-1.
