2023/24 FIXTURES
HEAD COACH LUKE WORLEY
Welcome to those attending the match this week to our very first home match.
It has been a fantastic start, with a very successful pre-season and then facing two away matches in succession to kick start our league campaign. We have been challenged in very different ways, the first week we faced the heat and the team really dug deep to secure a victory. We have seen a really complete performance from the team and this is the standard that we want to set for ourselves for this season. We will face a tough competitive match most weeks but how we deal with the challenges in front of us is what I am looking for with cup competitions also on the horizon. We have overall a very young team and we have started to really gel. It has been really pleasing to see the development pathway at Colchester United Foundation really come through with this team to add a really good mix of players in all positions. I have used previous coaching connections to add depth and experience to the team which will only help in the long term.
We are really hopeful to be able to create a real atmosphere at our new home Garrison B Pitch and can’t wait to see the team line up this coming weekend for the first time in the home kit and with home support. I encourage all supporters to soak up the surroundings and take advantage of the fantastic club house and facilities before, during and after the match.

It’s great to see Women’s football back at Colchester United and looking forward to our first home game this weekend!
Pre-season was a really good opportunity for the team to get to know one another and focus on creating a culture and a style of play.
It’s been a fantastic start to the season, with two emphatic wins - lots of goals and clean sheets.
Sunday promises to be a challenging test for the team, but we're feeling confident that we can continue with the momentum and winning environment that we have created!

HOME GAMES VENUE CONFIRMED
Colchester United Women's Team will play at a special new home for the 2023/24 season.
Colchester Garrison B ground will be the home of the women’s team for the 2023/24 season and beyond after discussions and an agreement for the facility to host our women’s team home fixtures was reached. Over the pre-season period, our women’s team fixtures have seen on average 100 spectators at games, and the team have been supported by more than just families of the players, we have been delighted to see so many followers. There is a real hope about this team and for their growth both on and off the pitch.
Head Coach Luke Worley said: “As a team we have been attempting to create as professional environment as possible and it was felt that although Shrub End had the opportunity to host our games, we wanted to be able to offer more to the supporters this season with enhanced facilities, with The Garrison B, this facility will give us just that.
“We will be playing on one of the best grass surfaces in the area which
will enable our team to thrive both on and off the pitch. Supporters will be able to purchase refreshments from the wonderful club house, there is seated stand for up to 250 people which we are sure will create a fantastic atmosphere. We also want to be able to create something for after the matches too, where the team can gather with friends, family, and
supporters alike in the club house.’’
The Women's first home game of the season will see them host Sudbury Sports on Sunday 24th September, 2:00pm KO - the Club House will be open an hour before kick off.
