History was made on Saturday afternoon in the Gaelic Grounds in Drogheda as the Dundalk Young Ireland’s became the first Louth team to win a Leinster Junior Final. Adrian Sheekey’s late goal against St Brigid’s from Offaly sealed a tense 2-10 to 2-7 victory for Adrian O’Donoghue’s team to signal the beginning of a weekend of celebrations around Seatown. Garda warning to be extra vigilant Gardaí have once again warned people to be extra vigilant during the dark winter months with burglaries on the rise locally at this time of year. Last week there were seven attempted burglaries and Gardaí have warned people to ensure their houses are secure. A man in his 30s has been arrested and charged following an aggravated burglary at a house in Muirhevnamor last Wednesday (December 5). Gardaí are currently investigating allegations that a woman in her 40s was assaulted and falsely imprisoned in the house. Continued on Page 2
