Woman is victim of violent assault

A second assault in the space of three days took place on Rampart Lane this week when a 36-year old woman was knocked unconscious between 3am and 4am in the early hours of October 4. The woman was approached by threefour males in dark clothing and assaulted. She was knocked unconscious during the assault and had her handbag stolen which contained cash and medication. She was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes
Hospital where she was treated for a dislocated thumb and facial abrasions. Three days earlier a 26-year old male was assaulted at the same location by a number of males and he too was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
