Dunleer parish priest Fr Michael Murtagh appealed for anybody with information regarding the murder of Cameron Reilly to come forward and speak to Gardaí. Fr Murtagh was speaking at the funeral of 18-year-old Cameron who was found dead in Dunleer on Saturday May 26. A post-mortem examination found he had been strangled and there is currently a murder investigation underway as Gardaí try to establish the facts of what happened on the evening Cameron died. Both Lannleire and St Kevin’s GAA clubs formed a guard of honour as Cameron’s remains were brought from a funeral home in the village to the church. Fr Murtagh spoke of the terrible shock and sadness which had overcome the close-knit community and spoke of the deep affection people had for Cameron who he described as ‘a quiet, helpful courteous young man’. Louth GAA mourns passing of manager Louth GAA is in mourning following the sudden passing of the Ladies team manager, Micheál McKeown, on Tuesday evening. Mr McKeown was preparing for the Wee County’s Leinster Junior Championship clash with Kilkenny on Sunday when he was taken ill at home. He was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital but sadly he passed away on Tuesday. The 67-year-old, who took over as Louth manager in October, was well known in GAA circles having managed Westerns and Annaghminnon in Louth, See Page 2
