The community of Dunleer is in shock this week following the murder of teenager Cameron Reilly over the weekend. The 18-year old’s body was discovered at approximately 8am on Saturday morning and following a post-mortem it was concluded that he died in ‘violent circumstances’. Cameron, a first-year hospitality studies student in DkIT, was last seen alive on the Ardee Road in Dunleer at approximately 12:30am on Saturday. Following the discovery of his body the close-knit community of Dunleer have been paying tribute to the popular teenager online. Cameron’s mother Tracy Glass has
thanked everybody for the kind words about her son stating “Thank you to each and every one of you, ours hearts are broken in a million pieces,” she said. Hundreds of people turned up for a candlelight vigil held in the local church to remember Cameron. Eighteen candles were lit at the vigil. Each one representing a year of the teenager’s life. Local parish priest Fr Michael Murtagh said that the community is devastated and in shock as they have never had to deal with anything like this before. “Dunleer is a very peaceful and friendly community and there is just complete shock as to what has happened.
