IT hasn’t been the best of seasons on the field of play for Louth GAA but there is some good news on the horizon with the prospect of a new and fitfor-purpose County Ground moving a step closer. The ongoing debacle concerning the current County Ground in Drogheda is at an end after Croke Park told Louth County Board that they will not be funding the redevelopment of the venue. This is the result of issues over ownership and lease of the ground which have not been resolved despite years of talks and investigations, involving Louth County Board, Louth County Council and the O Raghallaighs club. Successive County Board regimes have been unable to find a resolution to the impasse but the decision has now been made by Croke Park and as a result Louth fans can now look forward to getting a new home. Cowardly attack on vital service By Paul Byrne
Andrea Connolly from Cuidigh Linn has vowed not to let last weeks disgraceful attack on the groups building in Muirhevnamór stop them from doing their work in the community. Last Tuesday evening at around 10.20pm there was an arson attack on Cuidigh Linn’s building at 1 Park 1, Muirhevnamor, in Dundalk.
