Tributes have been pouring in from many quarters following the sudden passing of local footballer Ciaran Casey. The local sporting scene and wider community have been shocked and saddened by the untimely passing of Ciaran just days after playing for his club, Bellurgan Utd. The 37-year-old father of one, was admitted to hospital on Thursday but died the following day from a rare, aggressive form of leukaemia which hadn't been diagnosed. Ciaran was highly respected both on and off the field of play, and over the weekend, huge crowds attended his wake at Woodbury Gardens, and also the Bellurgan Utd clubrooms to sign books

Gardai renew appeal By Tamara O'Connell GARDA Commissioner Nóirín O'Sullivan has called on anyone with information on the murder of Garda Adrian Donohoe to have the courage to come forward. Speaking after a memorial Mass in Dundalk for the father-of-two, she said there are people in the community who have significant information that could help the investigation She said that the investigation into the murder of Garda Donohoe who was shot dead two years ago is still active. The commissioner appealed to anyone who has any information – “no matter how small or irrelevant it may be” – to contact Gardai. Full Story on Page 2
