By Paul Byrne THE Cooley peninsula’s remarkable success in the Louth Rose competition continued on Sunday evening with Megan Ferguson claiming the crown in front of a packed audience in the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Megan who hails from Cooley succeeds her neighbour native Jenny Hanlon who proved a huge hit at last year’s Rose of Tralee festival. In 2011 Jenkinstown’s Leoina Lennon was crowned Louth Rose with Cooley’s Patricia Marmion succeeding her a year later. All of which proves there really is something in the air in North Louth when it comes to winning the Louth Rose. See page 2
