Fans vent fury as tensions mount

Friends and family of the late Charlie Murray will be paying close attention to the Champion Open Unraced Stake final in Kilkenny this Friday evening with the hope that a local greyhound named in his honour can bring home the €10K first prize. Charlie, from St Nicholas Avenue was a hugely popular figure and according to his friend and neighbour Mickey McEneaney, he was a real character and has been sadly missed since his passing in 2014. “Charlie was great fun to be around and he was always up for the craic. He used to enjoy going in to Bennetts Pub in Bridge St. for a pint and he was famous for his catchphrase ‘Get away from me’ which he used to shout in a good natured way to anybody who was near him.
