AFTER a weekend in which certain sports fans attracted negative publicity, Dundalk star Keith Ward was lauded for his generous gesture in recognising one of clubs most loyal fans. Immediately after Dundalk FC had won the EA Sports Cup in Oriel Park, Ward made Cillian Moran’s day when he gave his cup winning medal to the ardent Lilywhites supporter. Residents oppose quarry opening Residents opposed to the re-opening of a quarry in Ballymakellet, Ravensdale turned out in force on Monday night for a public meeting to discuss their concerns on the matter. The Ballymakellet and District Residents Group organised the meeting in response to a planning application which was lodged by Buncorp Group to re-open a quarry which has been unused for almost 50 years.
