THE takeover of Dundalk Football Club was finally completed last Thursday following months of talks between a US based consortium and club owners. Peak 6 Sports from Chicago have been in talks with Andy Connolly and Paul Brown since last October regarding a potential takeover and the deal was formally completed last Thursday with the American consortium taking 100% control of the club. A statement from Peak 6 spokesman Jordan Gardner described Dundalk’s recent exploits as remarkable and vowed to build on the club’s recent success. “We’ve been following the incredible success of Dundalk FC over the past few seasons and have spent months assessing this opportunity, attending games and getting to know the club,” Peak6 spokesman Jordan Gardner said. “What Stephen Kenny and the players have accomplished under the stewardship of Andy Connolly and Paul Brown

Vigil for missing DkIT student By Paul Byrne
A vigil was held yesterday morning in DKIT for Ross Hanlon who has been missing since last Friday. Ross, a third-year business student in DKIT was last seen in the early hours of Friday morning outside Flex nightclub in the Augartenbrucke district of Vienna, Austria.
The 21-year old from Athboy in Meath had travelled to Austria on a city break last Thursday with two of his friends following the completion of his first semester exams in DKIT. Full story on Page 2
