Young man killed in horror crash Calls for legislation to make e-scooters safer following Armagh Road crash By Tamara O’Connell A local councillor who campaigned for improved road safety on the Armagh Road has said it is “sad” that a fatal crash occurred in the area on Saturday last. There has also ben calls to immediately look at legislation regarding the safety of e-scooters which has been described as ‘not fit for purpose’. According to Fine Gael Councillor John Reilly, the death of a young Algerian refugee called Sifee Dine Boudissa, is a “terrible tragedy”. The man, in his 20s, died following

a collision involving a car and two escooters. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man was treated for injuries at the scene and a third man was treated for serious injuries at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. The Department of Equality and Integration confirmed that the deceased individual was an International Protection applicant who was a resident at Carnberg Hotel on the Armagh Road in Dundalk which is currently being used to house refugees and asylum seekers.
