Redeemer Celtic FC have shown the true meaning of community spirit by working together over the past two weeks to bring a local playground back from the dead and restore it to it’s former glory. According to Redeemer Celtic FC secretary Stephen Fisher the playground had falling into a state of disrepair in recent years with weeds, dirt and broken equipment all adding to the problems with the children’s play area. “We see ourselves as not just a football club but also a huge part of our local community and we want to have pride in our area and have it looking the best it possibly can. We are very respectful of the council and we know that they have a massive area to cover so we took it upon ourselves to do something about the playground which is an especially vital amenity at the moment given the fact we are going through another lockdown and there needs to be an outlet for kids to have rather than sitting at home all day looking at four walls.
