MUSIC lovers in Dundalk descended upon the Quay in their droves on Saturday evening as word quickly spread that Ellie Goulding and Hozier were to play a secret gig in the Spirit Store as part of Guinness Amplify. Social network sites went into overdrive on Saturday evening around 4pm as word got out that two of the hottest acts around were confirmed to play a very special gig in the Spirit Store. Music fans rushed down to the popular George’s Quay venue with news that the gig tickets would be handed out on a first come first served basis to the first 220 people to make it down to the Spirit Store. the Spirit Store, was delighted with how the event turned out and was proud that his venue had been chosen to host the prestigious gig.
“There was such a buzz about the place on Saturday”, recalls Mark. “It was almost like a hurricane passing through the quay as people de-

Keenan calls time on Louth career Generous tributes have been paid to one of Louth GAA’s greatest ever players, Paddy Keenan, after he announced his retirement from the inter-county scene. At the age of 29, the St Patrick’s GFC clubman decided to bring the curtain down on a career that saw him earn huge admiration from colleagues, opponents and supporters of teams across the country. Keenan broke into the Louth team as an 18-year-old and played for 12 seasons with the Wee County and aside from his talent, it was his dedication along with his demeanor on and off the pitch that earned him many admirers and friends.
