Trio on charity cycle to Tralee By Paul Byrne
OF the thousands of people heading to the Rose of Tralee this weekend, not many will be heading on their bikes, but that is exactly what three local men are doing in a bid to raise funds for charity. Jonny McGailey, Mark Geraghty and Michael Bishop will take on the 350km cycle from Dundalk to raise money for the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, Make A Wish Foundation and Friends of A. The brave trio plan to complete the journey in two days before arriving in time for the start of the festival. D-Day for Leaving Cert students By Eunan Whyte Local students who will be receiving their Leaving Cert results today (Wednesday) are being reminded that regardless of their points, there are many options available to pursue their career of choice. With the first round of CAO offers coming out on Monday, it promises to be a tense time for students and their parents, but Colaiste Rís principal, Padraig Hamill, has urged everyone to look at the bigger picture, no matter what their results are. The bottom line is that while it is an important exam, it is not the end of the world.
