AN ongoing feud between two families in Rockfield Manor escalated in the early hours of Monday morning when shots were fired at a house in the Hoeys Lane estate just off the Dublin Road. Nobody was injured during the shooting which occurred at 3:40am where a number of gunshots were discharged. Windows and doors were damaged during the incident which has been linked to a feud between two families in the area. According to Sergeant John Fahy in Dundalk Garda Station four men were arrested on Monday morning at Hoeys Lane following the incident. “We arrested four men in a car after it was stopped and
searched on Monday morning. They were charged under the provisions of the firearms and offensive weapons act and they are due to appear in court”, explained Sgt Fahy. “We are currently carrying out an investigation to see if the incident in Rockfield Manor in the early hours of Monday morning is linked with the arrest of these men. We are aware that there have been a number of incidents in Rockfield Manor in recent months which revolve around a feud between two families and we are hopeful that we can satisfactory resolve any problems that are occurring in that estate”, he added.
