Dundalk have moved up a massive 13 places in the latest Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) survey and are now ninth out of 40 towns on the list. This is the town’s highest ever ranking on the list beating the previous high of 19th back in January 2016. Just a year and a half ago Dundalk were placed a lowly 30th out of 40 towns so this latest top ten finish shows that massive improvements have been made around the town with regards to cleanliness on the
streets. The IBAL survey is a bi-annual report commissioned by An Taisce which carries out litter surveys of our main towns and cities according to international standards. The towns and cities are then ranked in a league table format. The report stated that Dundalk was ‘Cleaner than European norms’ and praised a number of areas around town including Court House Square and Clanbrassil St. It also advised that Dundalk Institute of Continued on Page 2
