A DUNDALK family have been forced out of their home for the third time in six years as their house in Mounthamilton on the Ardee Road succumbed to the floods on New Year’s Eve, that also left their neighbours stranded. Local publicans Sheila and Paul Meehan’s house has been ruined and once again all their personal possessions and furniture have been ruined as the couple found themselves marooned on New Year’s Eve as water entered their house. The couple had only just returned to their home having spent the previous 12 months repairing damage and rebuilding their house following a previous flood in November 2014 which also destroyed their home. Baby Kai ‘s unexpected early arrival By Paul Byrne A DUNDALK mother was forced to have her baby in the back of her Dad’s Volkswagen Golf in the car park of Lourdes hospital after an early labour caught her off guard. Elaine Taaffe from O’Hanlon Park in Dundalk had three massive labour pains on the way up in the car and on the fourth she gave birth just as the medical staff to her dad Harry’s car at 6.55am.
