The urgent need for better communication and training and proper risk assessments for vulnerable psychiatric patients in the Louth-Meath area have been highlighted at an inquest on the death of a 53-year-old Dundalk man who died in the psychiatric unit of Our Lady’s Hospital Navan in 2011. The tragic passing in June 2011 of Eamonn Tuite of Avondale Park, Dundalk, who had presented as a voluntary patient at St Brigid’s Hosptial was described as a death that should never have happened. John urges patient approach at Medical World Cup By Paul Byrne Ireland’s involvement in the European Football Championships may have ended but there is another group of Irish soccer players, including a Dundalk man, preparing for a major international soccer tournament this weekend. The World Medical Football Championships will begin this weekend in Barcelona and the Irish team have a genuine chance of going far in the tournament having reached the quarter finals last year in Los Angeles where they lost to eventual winners the Czech Republic after conceding a goal in the last minute.
