Dundalk’s very own Scoil Rince Móna Ní Rodaigh took Glasgow by storm at the World Championships last week proving to all that dreams really do come true. In true ‘Móna’ style, the school brought an incredible haul of honours and silverware back to Dundalk in both solo and céilí dancing, a total of five ‘Globes’ and 65 world medals. The highlight of the week was 19-year-old Alannah Murray being crowned World Champion on Good Friday ahead of over 180 girls from all across the world. Alannah is from Crossmaglen and studies Business at DKIT.

Students inspired to invent A Dundalk student, whose brother suffered a freak eye injury, has combined with three friends to invent a product that could help others avoid a similar accident. The idea has proved such a big hit that Coláiste Ris students Eoin Murphy, Ciaran Hand, Eoin Smith and Padraig Fallon with their company Meáchan won the regional student enterprise final and will represent Louth in the National finals for the student enterprise awards in Croke Park on April 20.
