What appeared initially to be a relatively small maintenance job resulted in the uncovering of a real piece of local history on a Dundalk street. Pat McGinn, was working on a post box at The Crescent when his curiosity and love of history prompted him to investigate the origins of the box and what he discovered was not only its importance in historical terms but also as part of the social fabric of the town.
