AN eight-year-old boy has displayed a real heart of gold by making a huge sacrifice to raise funds for charity. Tadhg Reaburn, made the generous decision to have his hair shaved in aid of Barretstown after being moved by a recent visit to the centre which caters for children with life-altering conditions. The inspiring young boy from Funshog, Collon, has decided to get the chop at the end of this month and has set himself a target of €150 for his efforts. However, it is likely that the Collon National School pupil will exceed those expectations as already he has raised €75 online by

Margaret bids farewell to school By Paul Byrne After first entering the doors of Realt na Mara as a four-yearold pupil, deputy principal Margaret Conlon bid farewell to the Dundalk school on Thursday of last week after 39 years as a teacher. Not surprisingly, after such a long association Margaret was given a fitting send-off by staff and pupils. They treated Mrs Conlon and her family to a morning full of music, song and activities celebrating her many contributions during her time in Realt na Mara. All classes had a part to play and the concert concluded with an uplifting rendition of Pharrell Williams ‘Happy’ which had everybody in the room dancing. Full story on page 2
