FOLLOWING the historic outcome of the General Election 2016, Louth TDs have put the thorny issue of the Louth Hospital firmly back on the agenda. Sinn Fein have long been campaigning to restore services to the hospital and now with two TDs their voice is certain to be a lot stronger. Both Gerry Adams and Louth’s first ever female TD, Imelda Munster, will have an ally in Peter Fitzpatrick who immediately put the hospital on top of his agenda after retaining his seat in a dramatic conclusion to the count as he held off a late challenge from Labour’s Ged Nash who lost his seat. Patrick Clarke has last laugh By Paul Byrne Local poker star Patrick Clarke has picked up another huge cheque having finished fourth in the latest Poker Stars European Poker Tournament which was held in the RDS in Dublin last weekend. The 27-year-old from Ardee is quickly making a name for himself as one of the most promising poker players on the tour having only started playing the game seriously back in 2013.
