Two brothers from Carlingford will cycle the length of the country next month to raise money for three causes close to their hearts. Dan and John McKevitt in the company of some friends will cycle from Mizen Head in Cork to Malin Head in Donegal on August 10 as they attempt to raise €10,000 which will be split between the Foy Centre in Carlingford, The Maria Goretti Foundation and The Irish Cancer Society. The idea was first mooted as a fundraiser for the Foy Centre three years ago but due to a variety of circumstances that cycle didn’t take place. John and Dan picked the Irish Cancer Charity as one of their chosen charities in memory of their friend Brian Conlon who passed away from cancer last year. Brian was on the Continued on Page 4

Credit union merger takes step forward The proposed Transfer of Engagements of Cuchullain Credit Union Limited to Dundalk Credit Union Limited has taken another significant step forward. The boards of both credit unions have unanimously approved the transfer of engagements by board resolutions following permission by the Central Bank of Ireland to proceed by board resolution. As a result, the combined entity will be one of the largest credit unions in Ireland and will deliver immediate benefits to members, staff and the wider community. Full Story Page 2
